Really appreciate your prompt reply. He don’t like HCL that much compared to the rest as its its worst subject while he did well in the others. I attended CCHM open house today and feel he just need to be in the right school and with the teachers passionate and caring to guide him and then his interest in HCL will pick up. Personally, I prefer he continue HCL as Chinese will have growing importance overtime especially when he join the workforce. I’ll put as it as one the sec school choice for now together with the other SAP schools since he can make use of his extra PSLE HCL points. Thanks for your help again. 😊

Hi is CCHM a very Chinese school? My kid did HCL in primary and don't really like it and barely just passed it. Am worried that he'll struggle with too Chinese culture but I really like the academic led approach for this school. Any advise?

What do you mean by \"a very Chinese school\"? CCHMS is a SAP school, hence activities will be geared towards inculcating Chinese culture in the students such as tea appreciation, calligraphy, etc. However, knowing students nowadays, you will expect them to speak English more than Mandarin in school.

If he barely passed HCL and is not receptive to the language, it's better not to apply with CCHMS since HCL is compulsory.

Thanks for the quick advise. He's also just below COP so am worried he'll struggle as most students will be 250 range. I just attended AHS and MSH which seems more all rounder and HCL is optional but doesn't seem as academic as CCHM. Any advise?
