is that possible?
from what I know everyone will be accommodated
I meant unsuccessful balloting result for 2CS. Does the same SMS indicate the school that the child was eventually allocated to?

Yes all will be accommodated before the places are open to Phase 3.
Yes..someone i know balloted for naval base primary and was unsuccessful. The sms indicated that child has been allocated a slot at Xishan primary instead.

Got into Fernvale Primary!

For many of you eyeing the popular schools, this is ‘ok’ news; but for me it is ‘special’.

We are relatively new to SG, received PR in July this year, just-in-time! We were new to P1 registration process and anxious to secure place in local school!

The MoE website provides all information objectively, but thanks to this forum, that we gain the real help and insights. Out friend circle in SG is limited and we don’t have any elderly or relatives to guide us. It is only this forum that helped us a lot to plan our moves and take decisions.

Here I got the mantra – as PR do not waste 2C chance!

The historical balloting records and similar analysis from experts was extremely useful.

Special thanks to Davischew, Floppy, Zac’s_mum, Lexy for the detailed analysis and truthful posts with ‘authority’. You are true source of guidance and kindness for parents like me!

These are my heartfelt thanks to all in this forum! Wishing good luck to all parents! Cheers!
I do agree with what you say too. As PR we dont have the choice to be picky. We should go for the safe school and avoid balloting if possible.
The 3 schools around my house went in to balloting and i am super glad i avoided all 3 of them. Though its a bit far, i got a seat at St. Gabriel's. Which we are very happy about.
Thank you to all the supportive parents here who solved our nightmare worthy issues to the best of their capability.
Eternally grateful to this forum as it taught me a lot. Surely gonna help in many more years to come. Pls keep up the good work!

Actually looking at the website and the historical trend, can roughly tell already.
But if it is avaiable everyone can make an informed decision on whether to stay or withdraw and go for a school they have a shot at getting in. realistically what chance you have vs their wishful thinking to get in to a certain school. All these parents asking other fellow parents and nail biting and going from one school to another on last day can be greatly reduced. Easy for the schools too. They will get the number of applicants who actually wanna be there despite balloting, rain or shine 🙂 no need to answer so many calls and inquiries heh he.
That's my view

I called up DLS but the admin cant reveal the breakdown! Not sure the result too odd this year or they never provide any breakdown in the past!
Will try walk in to enquire later.
Appreciate if you can share the stats if they agree to reveal it.
It's frustrating when schools dont reveal the info. I know they are not bound to do it. But it would be a kind gesture.sigh

Have to be careful online withdrawal may not work!!!!!
Online registration doesn't seem to work for some.

I was under the impression can only do at school too. But at the end of registration i saw a button to withdraw so went digging info. But i do also agree with other cautious parents here, physical withdrawal has no faliour possibility while online we dont know.

There should also be an acknowledgement for withdrawal I guess. Thanks for your good digging of info, and it should save many KSPs precious time travelling between schools :)
Welcome. This applies to myself too 🙈 good possibility i might have to withdraw and put elsewhere on thursday because i am PR and do not wanna face a ballot.

Moonrays84, I think you are right. Sorry for misleading.
Means when you do online registration, can withdraw online, but to register again after that, need to go to school.
Thanks for the info !

Lexy, lucky your signature don’t work 😛

Do you have to physically go to the first school, withdraw and then go to the second school and apply?

Must go 1st school with both IDs and withdraw physically
