Did a quick search, the cover page is like this:

Not sure what happened .. thought I sent it out but turns out nothing. OK anyway I was looking for model compo of past year PSLE Chinese questions and did not find any, until recently I asked in KSP PSLE Chinese thread and a friendly fellow KSP told me there is one book now in Popular by EduVision (cover page purple in color). It turns out a very good book. My DD's Chinese tutor said all pieces are well written and 很有针对性! Much better than the normal compo books you usually get from bookstores. Got all 4 types of compo for both Normal Chinese and Higher Chinese. You hardly get a book with so many model compos all from past year papers! Just sharing in case you are also looking for good Chinese model compos, as I got this piece of useful info from KSP too. Cheers :rahrah:

Thought just share with parents who are also looking for good model compos.
Yes, yes. RI results is out. My DS received RI CO.... so happy and still can't beleive it.

:congrats: Happy for you, teapot! Enjoy that \"can't believe\" state for a while. Good timing coz yr Prelim just over & time to celebrate as family with yr DS, then face PSLE.

Thank you so much Esteema. DS really outdo my expectations. He is mainstream from neighbourhood school, so wasn't having much hopes reading from past year's forum.
:congrats:

My mistake, past years before 2011,MT CL ~81% get A/A* not 84%.

What can be definitely said is t score of 50 for a subject indicates the child got the average raw marks .

That's what I thought. So if MT CL A*/A is 84%, it must mean that an A in MT CL can still get below average, ie. <50 for the T-score?

But I thought some of the complaint is that MT CL drags down by too much the T-score of a child who is not good in MT CL? Does this mean 'not good' in MT CL actually means 'really horrible' in MT CL? Then again, can't be the case if 3A* 1C (CL) can still get 258, right?

So does MT CL affect the T-score too much or does it affect it too little? I am getting conflicting signals here. :?

If you get B for Chinese, it's very sad you belong to bottom 19% for this subject. If you get B for other subjects, you still could be better than average. If you get A for Chinese, it's difficult to say how much impact on your final T-score. Let us assume top 20% is A* for all the subjects. then A for Chinese is in the range of 21% to 81%, A for other subjects is in the range of 21% to 43%. Your T-score is finally depends on the percentile. This is the bottom line!
3A*, 1C (CL) 258

      I have doubts?
      The best T-score is 280, 280/4 = 70
      Let us assume 3A* = 3 * 70 = 210
      258-210 = 48
1C (CL) could get 48 marks?

      Incorrect assumption.
T score should be treated differently from raw marks.

No indication that the best scorer got the highest score for all subjects. Per subject it is even possible for the T score to be greater than 75.

What can be definitely said is t score of 50 for a subject indicates the child got the average raw marks .
And all subjects carry equal weight-age.
However, even with same raw marks for different subjects the T score for each subject could be greatly different.
I fully understand the T-score system 😂 I assumed 3A* equal 210, because it is already at the very very high end in the reasonable range, even I assume 3A* equal 220, T-score 38 for 1C(CL) is still too high.
