Isn’t it easier to catch and charge the young prostitutes involved rather than to keep on catching 50 men? Catch a few young prostitutes and jail them so young girls will know they cannot sell their bodies. Otherwise there will be no end to this as young girls know they cannot be caught at all.

SINGAPORE: Ten men have been charged in court with having commercial sex with an underage escort.


They are technicians Dzul Hilmie Ramli, 32, Muhammad Sufyan Misbari, 31, Mohamed Yazid Bashir, 28, driver Babu Suppiah, 32, supervisor Sudirman Yuri, 38, National serviceman Abu Shah Mohamed Abdul Mutalif, 22, bell hop Muhammad Ibrahim, 24, Myanmar national Lu Maw, 33, financial consultant Khoo Yi Xuan, 24, and Alvin Tan Zi Yu, 32, who is unemployed.

Each man faces one charge of paid sex with the social escort.

The girl, who was 16 at the time of the offences, cannot be named due to a gag order. It is understood that she is currently studying. It is an offence under the law to have commercial sex with someone under 18 years old.

Court documents state that the offences allegedly took place between October last year and March this year. The men paid the escort between S$180 and S$400 for her services, which took place in hotels islandwide.

Of the 10, four have indicated that they will be pleading guilty while three have claimed trial.


Each accused can be jailed up to seven years and fined if convicted.


Two other men implicated in the case are expected to be charged as well.


The court heard that one of them, American Payton Scott Velo, 44, attempted suicide on Tuesday. He has been warded at the Institute of Mental Health.


Channel NewsAsia understands that the case was uncovered when the pimp, Malcolm Graham Head, was arrested for robbery along with four accomplices.


The accomplices are Veronica Patricia Rio, 18, Ahmad Habiibul Hakim Assalafi, 19, Nuurul Aliyyah Abdul Talib, 23, and Nur Azilah Ithnin, 21.


Head, 32, was charged in court in March with robbery and vice-related offences.


Head faces 41 charges, 29 of which are for managing a brothel, procuring women for prostitution, and living on their earnings.


The other charges include robbery, causing hurt, traffic and drug offences.


Head has claimed trial. His case will be mentioned on 10 July.

WELLINGTON: An 11-year-old New Zealand boy was reported on Saturday to have fathered a child with the 36-year-old mother of a school friend, raising questions on why women cannot be charged with rape in the country.


Counsellors working in the area of child sexual abuse said the case highlighted a lack of attention to women as potential offenders, according to the New Zealand Herald, which reported the story.

The case has also prompted an examination of the law, under which the crime of rape applies only to men.

Justice Minister Judith Collins said she would investigate, the paper reported.

"This case raises an important point. I will seek advice from officials on whether or not a law change is required," Collins said.

The woman and boy, whose names were not released, live in the main North Island district of Auckland.

The boy’s school principal told the New Zealand Herald that he was shocked when the child told him what was happening.

"You won’t be very happy with me," he recalled the boy saying late last year. He said he had been having sex with his friend’s mother "and it needs to stop".

The organisation Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse said if the case is proved then the woman should be held accountable.

Under New Zealand law, the crime of rape applies only to men and carries a maximum jail sentence of 20 years.

Women who force a male to have sex face a charge of sexual violation which carries a maximum 14-year sentence.

According to the newspaper, government welfare officials – who took the baby into care about two months ago – confirmed they were dealing with a case at the boy’s school and that it was before the courts, but refused to comment further. The police also refused to comment.

The Herald reported that the young father, who has now turned 12, was also understood to have been taken into care.

Quitted school 5 years back? Most likely cannot pay the school fees also until the school evict them out.

BTW, the 5 times reported in the New Paper is the 5 times when 5 landlords seek lawyers to evict the family out.


Actual eviction may be 20 or more times because in the remaining cases, the landlord may find it too troublesome or expensive to consult lawyers, so these evictions are not recorded legally.

This is a good for nothing family and wasting of earth’s resources.

According to the New paper, this family had 5 previous incidents of evictions by previous landlords for not paying the rent.
