      heyhoe:
      Hi Imami and Funz,

Thanks for the suggestions. :please: I'll start to look at these places.

Funny, Ds played with a friend and suddenly gets all interested. I just want to fuel his interest so that he doesn't play too much electronic games. Hopefully the brothers will start to pick up chess too.

It'll be good to let them join the chess CCA in school and play in small committee club competitions like Queenstown etc as it will be good for experience.

I think it is a fact that anyone who is drunk is rowdy, not just foreign workers. I think banning alcohol is not a solution, neither is avoiding areas where other races or foreigners congregate. As a multiracial country, Singaporeans should be more accepting of other races.

    • RE: All About Finding & Evaluating Tutors

      imacsg:
      Just to get some advise.

I have a math tutor who is very friendly and good. After teaching my son for one year. My son result SA1 was 30, and SA2 46.5. There is improvement but still fail.

      1. Should I find another new tutor

      2. continue with this tutor for once a week and find another math tutor for once a week also.

If two different tutors to teach math. Are there any issues?
I think it would also be good to find out the learning styles of your child? That way he may be able to learn and absorb curriculum material better.

    • RE: Help Needed Urgently

      Hi,

I agree that good tuition can help in allowing your child to understand the concepts better. This would be beneficial for subjects such as Chemistry or Economics.

However, for subject that require the child to memorise such as Biology or General Paper, I feel that the child should spend his/ her time making his/ her own notes rather than going for tuition as sometimes tuition can be rather time consuming.

Although going to tuition helps, it is very important for the child to do his/ her own practice in their free time as once the child gets familiar with certain questions, they will have a better idea on how to approach the question in the future.

All the best to your child! šŸ™‚
