It's called boy's maths.
Although we all know how to calculate simple/compound interest, when it comes to car loan, I find that men have warped logic (of cos men will say mine is girl’s math!)
When I buy a car, I will pay in full because I don’t want to pay interest on the car loan. But DH’s good friend will change car every 3-5yr, the moment he finishes paying his car loan, it’s time to change a new car (and take on a new car loan)! Isn’t it forever in debt?
Recently my bro changed car because his logic is that after 5th year, continental car with no warranty is not worth to drag on. I am amazed that he doesn’t take into consideration the fact that COE went up by a lot in the past 5 yrs!?! -

Must be a Western anthropologist because it is a zero sum game designed to influence the children to fight among themselves. So evil.
\"An anthropologist showed a game to the children of an African tribe.
He placed a basket of delicious fruit near a tree trunk and told them:
\"The first child to reach the tree will get the basket.\"
When he gave them the start signal, he was surprised that they walked together, holding hands, until they reached the tree and shared the fruit!
When he asked them why they did that, they answered innocently and curiously: \"Ubuntu\"
In their language, \"Ubuntu\" means \"I am because we are.\"
That tribe knows the secret of happiness that has been lost in societies that consider themselves \"civilised\"...\"
Just like so-called aid to African countries conditional upon the country implementing a political system whereby people have to form different political parties to fight among themselves. -

Did you just feed us a jumbo sized word salad that basically called Singapore a whore who invited 3 giant wolves into the house? :?

Singapore's 4th PM in 59 years. As opposed to 4th PM in 4.9 years.

Oh noes! We may be too closely aligned to the Axis of Evil! Will tiny red dot end up on the highway? On the menu?
:yikes:
PS. Don't bother going beyond the pay wall. No need to give them money. -

https://www.straitstimes.com/world/middle-east/satellite-imagery-shows-precision-attack-damaged-air-defence-system-at-iranian-base
If you read the article it actually says in essence satellite imagery shows success of Israel's precision strike on Iranian base, by showing no damage anywhere at the base whatsoever.
You cannot make it up. So much for MOE's efforts to teach critical thinking.
It's one thing for the New York Times to write whatever propagandist drivel they want. It's another thing for our Straits Times to re-publish it. Stop making Singaporeans dumb. :stupid:
Oh wait. Our kiddos don't read the ST any more. Just as well. Maybe they are smarter than us after all. :siam: -

What I have noticed since young is that there is a marked difference between 打工仔 or employee mentality versus self-employed mentality.
No confusion. Some young ppl are indeed pushing for 4 day work week. Not 4+1.
I dunno if they are willing to take pro-rated pay. Or are they intending to work longer hours on those 4 days so that they have 3-day weekend untouched.[/quote]
Both aspire to be paid as much as possible for as little work as possible. The difference is the latter realizes that it is not an entitlement, but is entirely dependent on oneself.
There is nothing wrong with a 4-day, 3-day or even 1-day work week, so long as young people understand that other people will only pay you for what value you actually create. So if you can create enough value in one day's work to support your desired lifestyle level for a week, go for it.
I think most young people are sensible enough to realize this. So I don't worry about them so much.
