• RE: 2019 P1 Registration Exercise for 2020 In-take

      Hi all,

We are residing in Punggol. My DD is going to take P1 registration for 2020.
I am juggling between 3 schools in Punggol. Distance is ok between all the schools. If anyone know about these schools please shed some light.
      Thank you.

      1. Edgefield Primary
      2. Greedndale Primary
      3. Waterway Primary
This year's COP for the big fours lower than previous years. Does it mean the 2018 national cohort not as strong as previous years? Just wondering...

no. it means the difficulty of paper is easier than before, especially EL and MT.
it may cause lower t-score in overall and lower cop in girls schools.

it could be MOE's adjustment to bring up boy's score for preparation of 2021.

That’s not how t-scores work. If it is an easier paper and you did well, and so did all others, your t-score won’t go up (and neither will theirs).
If the student got Raw mark 95 and most of the cohorts performed well and mean mark 75 then his score might be low comparitively if the mean mark 65 to 68.

      Hi,
This year they performed very well, since the mean mark and standard deviation might be high that's why COP is lower than previous years.
      And also 210 - 240 got more.
      This year more intelligent students

MOE has released their pdf booklet. Here are the 2017 COPs sorted from highest to lowest. Hope you find it helpful when choosing your schools.

That means this year cut of point reduced comparitively last 2 years correct?

As per my DS understanding, Male part and female part of flower bloomed at same time and live for 7 days after that either one fall off first, after 2 days next one fall. There is high chance to pollinate by insect with same flower.

As per my DS also insect one flower( with same flower). Don't know which one is correct?
If they give conditions like male and female parts matured at different timings, insect with two flower pollination will be correct.
But conditions said male and female part bloomed same time and stay live 7 days. But one part die 2 days earlier than other. So We no need to think about later part. It means 7 days Anther and stigma stay live for pollination. One (same)flower insect pollination will be correct answer.
Oh ok, so his answer might be correct. According to my son and his friend they are telling that they didn't gave much info about this question..

I think the question did mention something like the pistil will fall off first followed by the stamen, meaning that they mature at different timing, that will prevent self pollination. I may be wrong.
Yea. Overall paper need some thinking processing. Adaptation qn was challenging. MCQ was quite ok. There was one mcq about pollination. Something about what Z is being pollinated by...anyone have any idea?

I think I remembered that question now. My answer is pollinated by insects , two flowers

Yes. My DD also put the same answer. She say she don’t know what the qn wanted. Almost entire class people all have choices 1,2,3,4 as the answer. Confused.
https://i.postimg.cc/52cbSDg8/20181004_175907.jpg\">
They gave flower like that, so according to my DS stigma is lower, so within 1 flower pollination can occur. That means Insect with one flower option. Anyone please shed some light on.

      ryka:
While the formula for density is mass/volume, it doesn't mean that a same material will have varying density because of different volume or different mass. So, a big iron ball will have the same density as a small iron ball, even though they have different volume. The density of a material will only change when pressure or temperature changed.

So since the 3 balls existed in the same temperature and pressure, the floating ball will be a different material from the balls that sank. We don't need to know the mass and volume of the balls to conclude that they are of different density, and hence different material.

The questions showed 3 similar size balls (conclude as similar volume), the unknown / no information is the mass. Hence, there is possibility that 2 balls of the same material, one being solid and another one hollow will result in one sink (solid) and the other one floating (hollow).

      I thought it was mentioned 3 solids - X, Y, Z?
Yes, according to my DS they mentioned 3 solids..

      @Mylilgirl,

If answer is indeed B only but current school teacher (and Sc tutor) said it’s “neither”, then I worry for our children. 😓

Probably need to remind kids taking PSLE next year, for simple straightforward questions, don’t think too deeply into it, just move on to the next question.
According to teacher answer is 4, 2 is wrong
