Do girls wear PE shorts under their pinafore during non-PE days? If yes, I would need to buy more of the shorts.

      TIA.

      Hi,

You can let your girl wear any shorts on non-PE days.
Hi, my girl is going P1 next year. Any 2015 P1 parents here?

Attended the orientation last week but didn't have any chance to ask questions. Anyone knows if there will be talks etc for parents on the first day of sch? Or where do we hang around while waiting for our girls?

Did not managed to ask the teachers regarding school rules, from what I found on the school's website http://www.chijourladyqueenofpeace.moe. ... id=1172754

Hope parents of current students can help answer some questions I have..

Regarding socks: Plain ankle-length white socks (7cm above ankle). Does the school have it's own socks? Didn't see any at the uniform vendor's setup last week. Does it have to be 7cm above ankle?

Regarding hair clips/ties: Plain small clips, narrow hair bands and ribbons, which are black, are allowed. Only black? Blue is not allowed?

Regarding earrings: No jewellery is allowed except for a pair of small gold-coloured ear stud (round shape only). Does it have to be gold? Silver is not allowed?

Regarding watches: Simple and ordinary black watches are allowed. No colourful watches or huge watches. The diameter of watches should not exceed 2.5 cm. Again, does it have to be black? That means I have to go buy a new watch for my girl then.

Thanks in advance for your kind advice :please:

      Hi,

I have 3 girls current in CHIJ OLQP. P6, P5 and P1. So far, the experience is awesome! The teachers are very caring. The only complain I heard so far is that teachers are going on maternity leave leaving the lower Pri girls with relief teachers. I guessed since the majority of the teachers are female, this is some thing that cannot be avoided. They are serving National Service after all.

      As for
Socks: They do not have official school socks. Just get them normal (not ankle) plain white ones will do.

Hair clips: Yup, only black, no other colours.

Earrings: My girls had been wearing gold ear rings (not studs) since day 1. I am not sure about silver ones.

Watches: Yup, black too. My 2nd girl wore a dark blue one (her birthday gift), so far ok. I think its because it looked like black.

      Regards,
      Riverbell 😄

      Thanks Riverbell 🙂

Any tips on what snacks to prepare for the noon snack time in class?
Hi Lynn,

      Hi,

We were under Phrase 2C four years ago. If I remembered correctly, there were <40 places for 110 applicants.

My girls had CCA every Tues, Thurs and Supplementary every Friday. Come mid March, they will be having Chinese Speech and Drama every Monday. So the only time they come home at 1:45pm is Wed. They dismissed at 4pm all other days.

They had this type of time schedule since Pri 1. However, I must mention that they are the ones who wanted to opt for all these extra activities. I do monitor their energy level to avoid burnt out. But so far so good.

I do know of parents who didn’t opt for any of these extra after school activities as their daughters have to attend private tuition/ ballet/ piano classes. So it is still up to the parents/ students whether they want to attend.

For the PSLE results for 2011, you can go the school's official website, go to the information for parents, princial talk (P5/6). Download the powerpoint slide.

      http://www.chijourladyqueenofpeace.moe.edu.sg/images/MTP2012/p5p6mtp2012.pdf

You will be able to see that the school did very well in 2011. Much better than many other schools in CCK, Bt Panjang area.

My two girls are in the school. As we had to go through balloting (>2km), I wasn't sure if I want to take the risk or just enrol in a nearby school. But now I am so very glad I made that decision. My girls are so very happy in that school. They were given so much leadership opportunities. I also appreciate the amount of school work they are given as they do not attend outside tuition. Many times, I suspect those who complained that their kids are having too much school work are those who parents who arranged tuition. Their kids had to complete school work and tuition work as well.
