Hi with the new GE, does SCGS also come under Tanjong Pagar?

Anything can happen in 2C…but good news for parents trying for SCGS this year in 2C within 1 km. Looks possible that there will not be any balloting for under 1km.

I have been told that for ACSJ, balloting is required for SC staying more than 2km but will be calling the school tomorrow to double check.

Hi everyone, my son has just started K1 in BRMCK and I can tell that he seems to be very happy with the school. Although he is new in the school, he looks forward to school every morning and I think the school must have a good environment for the child to feel this way.


The school is extremely well organised and the principal and teachers are extremely friendly and welcoming every morning when I drop my son off.

It has been a week and it has been an extremely good experience for the child.

I believe that registration will be in April so do prepare to queue up if anyone of you are keen to register in this school which I would highly recommend.

Hi Jetsetter, I emphatise with you and you have effectively articulated my thoughts about PSH. I have a child who is in K2 this year and have undergone 4 changes in Chinese and English teachers in the last 2 years alone…School fees have escalated while quality of teachers have not improved according to the fee hikes!


For those who are considering K2 options now, it is going to be very challenging as most of the established Kindy would have been filled. It would be advisable to still continue with Pat’s but send your child for enrichment especially for Chinese Hanyu Pinyin which Pat’s does not teach till the later part of the year. Call me kiasu but I think it will be too late by then.

For K2 graduation, it will cost you another $400 for parents to attend the concert, photography and the costumes. If you do have the choice for another kindy, I recommend that you consider the option becoz PSH has become a commercial organization looking solely at returns and not a place where they are looking at providing a holistic education for your child.

Hi parents, I have been totally disappointed with PSH in the past 12 to 18 months. I have a DS and DD in Claymore and the staff turnover is appalling. My DD has no English teacher for 4 months and my DS has a foreign teacher from the Philippines for 2 years who has a very strong foreign accent similar to my filippino maid!


Despite various feedback given to the principal, nothing was done as there is a long queue of applicants especially foreign students waiting to be enrolled.

But the quality of the teachers have dropped, they have become very commercial driven and I have totally lost confidence in their ability to educate a young child with the type of teachers that they have hired in the recent 18 months.

To be fair, each centre is different but I do urge all parents to visit PCH, ask which teacher your child will be allocated to and evaluate accordingly as the costs is high and it is frustrating to pay a premium but not getting the value you paid for.

Sembgal: Thank you for your views. I do have a stronger inclination to send him to SJIJ but because I am not within 1km and based on recent statistics, it is likely that I have to go through the nerve wreaking balloting process which I dread...


Anyone has views on ACS Junior vs Barker Road? I would appreciate honest feedback Thanks!
