Hi

There will be a welcome speech and then proceed to purchase books and uniforms. The whole session take abt 3 hours.

Thanks Sally. Are parents involve in briefing session or are they isolated till all over. My DD come from a girl school (RGPS), hope she can get use to a class where it is expected to be 4/5 boys to girl ratio. :D
Parent and child attend the same session. No worry you be surprise that she can mix with with the boys. My son has a classmate from RGPS too and she mix well with boys. I think bcos they have the same interest.

same here! have been checking emails every day at least 2x but didn't see anything....have sort of given up already...now, putting my hopes on tomorrow's NJC DSA test, hopefully, ds can get thru this one...

btw, does NUSH inform also if the student is not selected for the camp?
      Hi

Last year, the result was out in the espace 1st then I received email a day later. If I never remember wrongly, the result was out 1 day earlier.

Wish you and your kid good luck.

    • RE: Which Top School to choose for DSA?

      ddparent:
NUSHS is more selective. They really want the best for Math and Science. Unless your child is really very good at Science, I doubt a bronze in SMOPS will help a lot.

I agreed with you. My boy is in Yr 1 this year, they don't have text book except HCL. Their teacher will distribute notes to them on the topic they are covering. Their Maths & Science really different from other IP school, e.g for Maths now they are covering some of the Yr 3 topic.

I don't know and the funny thing is that the students understand and able to do well.

Hi, anyone knows if it's possible for a child who graduates from NUSH to do accountancy, business admin or economics in local University ?

This is a link to NUS website where it indicates the courses that NUSH diploma holders can apply and the necessary prerequisite:

      http://www.nus.edu.sg/oam/apply/local/prerequisites/BYA-prerequisites.html#top

Looks like they can apply to most courses. I think NUSH also offer economics as a subject from the 3rd or 4th year.

Thanks ! That clarifies my doubts :-)
How do we receive the DSA letter? By post or need to collect from school?

      Thanks
MOE wil send it to the school.
My son came back from school today. I thought the school will give the letter to him, but they didn't. Either the school didn't receive it from MOE or they will not be giving it directly to the students.

Anyone received the DSA letter so far?
Mine didn't receive too.

Sorry if I'm bursting anyone's bubble but I heard that PL Sec is removing the affliation with PL Pri within the next few years.

Best to prepare your child adequately instead of depend on the affiliation.

MMM, your niece got a very nice teacher-in-charge for band. He's very soft-spoken & the girls often bully him!

I heard the news from my friend too. His girl is P6 this year, it seem that this year they are already not affiliation.
