Yes like keltong wrote, it is better to teach the 2 letter words first, when he is familiar with them, then move on to 3 letter words.

When he can read the 3 letter words, you should also test him by asking him to pickup the letters that form a word. He should be able to pick the correct letters just by listening to the sounds.

Do u mean give him single letters + all the ag, ad, ab, at etc and get him to for 3 letter words? sounds found, i nvr tot of that, thanks for sharing.

Same qn i asked keltong, 2 letters blending seem meaningless to a child, how to get them interested? My son is turn off coz they dont mean anything to him, so i quickly jump to 3 letter blending to interest him

Yes. This is for young children who are not good at writing yet. For kids who can already write all the letters, just ask them to write will do.
I bought the 鸡蛋哥哥(全四册) - there are only 4 books (hardcover) inside, paper quality is 铜版纸.

The first one has 7 titles. Paper quality is 胶版纸. I'm taking to mean softcover, bound with glue.

thanks hquek. any idea about the content? same for different cover?

The set of 7 has got the following titles (you can see from 目录)

I imagine the content of those 4 books should be the same. The other 3 I have no clue. This series is more for young children - my 4 y/o likes this series.
HiHi,

Where can I get these books ?
Hi all,

FYI, The 笑猫日记- 绿狗山庄, the #13 book is finally out after a long wait. :lol:

Hi Hi,

May I know this book is suitable for which age group?

Thank you.

Hi seeker

The dangdang classified this serial of books under P3 category. DD has no problem reading these books last year when she was P5. I know Ms Tamarind's dd P2 is also able to read too.
Hi Brenda10,

Thank you for your reply. 😄

Any Chinese books to recommend for 4 yrs old child ?

great mama:
Hi,

My child is attending Brightstar too and glad to see fellow parents here 😄

Gardentea, I don't think the school fees increased by double lah... they were charging $800+ and increased the fees to $1k this year so about $200 increase...

Well, I did consider switching my child when they told us last year about the fees increase but the other childcare centres around Suntec are all more expensive than Brightstar and I need a childcare in this area cos easier for me to fetch my child after work. It helps when their closing time is 7.30pm instead of the usual 7pm. The extra 30mins helps alot. Furthermore my child likes the teachers there and I'm generally ok with the school on the whole.
Hi Great mama,

How's the curriculum in this centre ??? How long has yr child with this centre ?

debpch:
hi keas,

hubby & i viewed a couple of preschools & talked to the principals/teachers. mindchamps is not bad but hubby did not like the fact that it is normally located in a shopping center... he preferred preschools that have playgrounds & lawns for the kids to run around.. but that's our preference...

actually, u have to visit the centers to see if it fits your needs... 😄

we live in the north so tanglin is really far for us... so, hubby & i have decided to give it a try & see how it goes.. 🙏

Any comments on Pat's Schoolhouse at Katong ?
