Parents support group (or parents volunteer) need to apply and start volunteer work around one year before P1 registration. Try calling the school around Jan/Feb. Work can start as early as May. Need to clock 40 hours of work in this 1 year, then eligible for phase 2b.

      Thanks for your info.

FYI, my gal had confirmed in HIPS in 2015 (P1) so I dun need to clock 40 hours.

Anyway, thanks. I will check with the school instead.

Sorry, misunderstood you. I know what you asking now. šŸ™‚

Hi HIPS parents who went through PV,

for child born in 2009 (P1 registration 2015), when do we register for PV? When will we be informed if we are successfully selected, and usually when do we start PV work? Thank you.

      Dear HIPS parents,

Do you know usually when will the school start recruiting parent volunteers? My daughter was born in 2008 and she is due for P1 registration in June 2014. Do I need to obtain a PV form from the school general office?

Also, how is the PV selection process like? Any criteria that I need to look out for? Any parents would like to share your success stories?

      Thanks a lot.
      Hi,

I also have the same question as above. Anyone can help answer please? Thank you.

      oic... it helps, thanks..

cos i think those private school got toddler(18mths to 2yr old), N1(3yr old), N2(4yr old), K1(5yr old), K2(6yr old). makes me confused.

Hmm, then u just replace the N1 with playgroup, and the N2 with N. then that's MFS

      Hi mambobb and micollh,

thank u very much for your replies. Guess I will send my DD to extra classes once she is old enough.

So what is the standard of N, K1 , K2 syllabus for MFS? Is it more advance than PCF K1 K2 standard?

      Sienta,

i think the syllabus in MFS is standard. most N, K1/2 the same. They have enrichment which is optional like drama and speech, kindermusic, chinese theatre, you can sign up for ur DD, as i did too, as the classes will be conducted during their cc's hour mah.. they get to learn different thing too.

PCF is half day, from wat i know ?(my col's DS is with PCF), they teach even slower.. cos few hours only. but i guess the syllabus more or less the same. they all under MOE, must follow the syllabus established by MOE.

      oic, ok, thanks.

Will wait and see what my cc offers as optionals.

      Hi,

My DD has recently promoted from the MFS infant class to the toddler class, now still trying to adapt to the new teacher and environment. Anyone knows if MFS teaches phonics and start at what age? What about counting and maths? Is it necessary to send my children to additional enrichment classes for phonics or can I just depend on the MFS syllabus and teachers? Thanks
