Does anyone has good private violin female teachers to recommend as I am thinking of letting my 6yo girl to go into private lessons. She has been learning violin for about 8 months with Ballet & Music co. Thanks in advance!

      Hi sushigal

To compare MM to CMA i find it relatively expensive. CMA for 10lessons (1.5hrs/lesson) about $280 whereas MM charge 12lessons (1hr/lesson) $405. My gal has no prob going for CMA makeup lesson as they have many time slots to choose from while MM only allow 30mins for the makeup lesson and no other time slots to choose except to go 30mins earlier. If u work out the sums, MM is consider very EXPENSIVE le. Just my own opinion.

      sushigal:
My girl is with Math Monkey in Goldhill Centre. So far so good. Girl is enjoying. Class size is always small like can be 2 - 6 students.

Teachers there are helpful especially my girl is poor in her Math and I showed them the mid-year paper. They were more than willing to help her up after her class with Math Monkey. eg: another 20-30 mins.

Moreover, the price is not expensive considering their one term is 12 lessons not 10.

Pat's website still mention about the extended half day programme and I noticed that imaths has been changed to creative art and cookery. Do they actually still have extended half day programme or they have stopped that totally for new nursery students or there are different practices in different centres? Does anyone know? Thanks.

      Hi ahbombom

As far as i know, imaths, swimming and harmony road is under the bundle-buy programme so they should not be replaced. So far my girl is still continuing on these few stuffs and the school has not inform us on any of the changes.

      Hope this help ๐Ÿ˜„

Seems like most of the feedbacks on most of the PSH branches are really good. My child is currently at the Arena branch but because of the poor management of the principal, I am considering of transferring her to Halifax branch.

Anyone knows if there is priority for school transfer as i understand that Halifax always has really long waiting list....

I have spoken to Ada (priniciple from Halifax but now heading Tanglin) before and was told that priority is given to siblings first and followed by internal transfer. Confirmation has to be done by end Sep with registration form submitted.

Initially, I was contemplating to change there as well after hearing good reviews but utimately put the thought away. Reason is he's doing very well in current branch. He knows his friends, teachers, enjoys the rustic school environment and learning much, thus I don't want him to go through all over again in a new environment.

I heard that Halifax, Seranggon and Buckely are having the long wait list esp those born in 2007 and 2008. Maybe you would like to share more about what are the unpleasant stuff you encountered at Arena? Have you raised your concern to the principle ......

The principal will be the last person i will check with. To think that not only the teachers turnover is high, the students turnover is also very high!! By the way, I have notice that Pats Arena has been having alot of honey stars/cornflakes/cocoa crunch for breakfast or snacktime as compared to last time whereby i can hardly see those 'heaty stuffs' was served for the kids!

yes mummy! in fact i did asked before and i m always being asked by neighbours we bump into on why my girl go to school without uniforms.

She has stained most of her clothes and yes i personally do not like the idea that the school does not need the children to wear uniforms.
