Hi,

After reading all u parents posts, I want to mention the followings:

      1. Mindless drilling may still be useful in the stage of Primary School. However, once your kids go to those top Sec Sch, I don't think it still can work. The top Sec Sch requires more sensible and wide thinking. Most of the questions and project require creative ideas. No more models in Maths. No more oral notes given. They require your own expression and personal thinking. How those mindless drilled students can face those changes?

      2. As I know, most of the P6 Rulang students still got personal tution after 4 pm. Some of them cried after they lose their voice. But the teachers still asked them to continue to recite the oral notes on Wednesday (the day before the PSLE Oral Exam). I really feel sorry for the students. The parents really save money? I really want to know how many students will get in top rank in PSLE this year.

Hope the school be kind to the students, learning is life long. The teacher shd tell the students the concept of each new topic clearly. Then, teach them how to apply in daily life through the questions and paper. Then, learning is fun and more practical. thnks.

Regrouping into various classes starts after p2 year-end exam. There will be top 3 classes (usually named F, G & H).

Regrouping again at the end of p3 year-end exam.
Isn't this similar to other schools?

My friend told me the top 3 classes are 'R', 'U' then 'L' leh. I assumed that it's the same naming convention throughout P3-P6. Maybe I made the wrong assumption.

Heard that the it is R, U, L... too from parents.

:celebrate: :celebrate: My DD got CO under Dance....understand that they only give offer for 5 or 6 out of more then 150 applicants for dance if I am not wrong. Really happy for her.

Congrats, laifeeling. Yes, it is extremely difficult to get in thru dance, not to say to join the dance CCA there. Can share about the DSA? Heard that they are required to do Jazz dance as well? TIA

vk2010 said only the top class is stretched. So the soln is to make sure that your kid doesn't qualify for the top class, then no need to fret šŸ˜‰

      Is good news anyway!

The mentioned schools have lots of students qualifying for IP but instead choosen those schools for many reasons.

The standards of students are actually comparable to current IP schools.

so there will be a drop in number of students going to Raffles group & Hwa Chong Group, DHS, RV, NUSH, ACS...

So I think some of the affiliated schools can at least retain their top PSLE scorers this year. Or some of the top scorers will drop the DSA offers from the original IP schools in order to remain in their affiliated schools.
Hi,

Does anyone know if we can get the 2010 Top schools' prelims papers now? Please share if you know where to get them. Thought it's good for DD to do some practice before the PSLE.

      Thanks.

the schools will be doing some exchanging right now, I heard

anyway, feedback is that this year's top school prelim isn't as difficult as before as MOE told them not to shock the kids too much by having too tough prelim (the MOE part was told by school last year)

If like that then MOE may also not shock the kids too much in the comimg PSLE too.
Agreed. šŸ™
