Hi everybody

I live at Telok Blangah Hts and am currently considering Montessori schools in the area for my soon-to-be 2 year old son. I prefer full-day programs, or at least until 3pm.

I have currently shortlisted the following schools, and would be grateful if anybody could give me any feedback or comments on them before i shortlist them for a visit -

1) Bambini Montessori at Kim Tian

2) [Moderator's note: Entry removed on request of service provider]

3) MMI at Telok Blangah St 32

4) Seedlings Montessori at Dawson

Many thanks in advance šŸ™‚

I stay near Kim Tian (and i didnt even know there's a school here!!)

My 2 kids are with CherieHearts bukit purmei near Radin mas primary. Currently there is 7% discount for enrollment, school fee is relatively lower
Supersim, back to Sg to work 6 months ago. My kids are also with this centre for couple of months. Now, my boy in K2 is very active unlike the past when he has to stay home and do nothing with my maid. No doubt, I like the staffs at this centre too.
One thing I learned recently, the branch directors and teachers are very down to earth, they accepted my opinions, and not being too defensive too. I like the way they deal with my kid. My girl is starting at this centre next week in PG class. Hope she is doing fine. keep you guys update on her progress.

Do you think Dawson the preschool there is good?

My feedback was:
Children often fall sick due to enclosed area.
No or rarely any outdoor activities.
Teacher turn over rate high. currently teacher not communicative to parents. Not active too... old not lively
Once outbreak of chicken pox lasted for two months
HFMD, over 10 cases in two weeks
Principle seduced neighbours husband and not sure what problem involved police to went up school two years ago
Everything needs to pay double or triple the price as compare to other school. nothing cheap.
Positive feedback was only the partime teacher for upper level is good.
HOnestly, I learned the lessons hard here.
HFMD case, most of the time coming from parents who insisted to put kids in the childcare even there is little symptom surface. Once the victim is in, then the spread goes fast. Bottomline, as we are parents, we need to be extra careful monitoring our children.

but I do agree wt you that, centre with very enclosed are/space wt aircond, are not my preference.

Do share if you have good recommendations.

Hi mummies,

I'm planning to send my gals to Cherie Hearts @ Bukit Purmei.

Any feedback on this center?
Notice they got new painting done. Now, teachers are more settled down after new owner took over. And heard from my friend, constantly they have new enrollement. The teachers left the centre are willing to be back.
School fee is reasonable and affordable, after subsidy it is $420
One thing, every morning, I can see the owner dedicating picking up children by herself. which is good.

Planning to send my daughter to Cherie heart at bukit purmei. Since my son showed some great improvement, especially the chinese teacher is good.

mintcc:

yes, the teachers I tlk to was nice. In fact she also suggest that it is best not to change if my kid is already settled in his current school.

In general, I am happy with his current school too, just that it is a bit of a rush to pick him up after work.

I have heard good things about Queenstown Good Shepherd, in fact from one of the other mums of my boi's current child care who feels the curriculum is not sufficient in the childcare. Unfortunately, have to pick him up myself so school is probably not such a good choice for me...

Heard from new boss, the centre will be having painting job over the weekend (to minimize the disturbance to kids). And expect to see new classroom with new painting and dedicated shoe rack. looking forward on that

My son has been with this centre for some time. I observed that, He learned so much especially his chinese and english. Just few weeks away from home, and I found he has great improvement. I guess, Teachers and staff does really matter to guarantee the quality of centre.

The cost is also not too high as comparing to other branches.
