Is anyone know the PA online submission to get the PA letter for phase 2B open already for P1 2016 intake?

Log in to http://www.grassrootsconnect.org.sg to submit your P2B application.
Once approved, your CO will ask you to collect the letter.

I feel that the (initial first two days plus right up to latest 3 pm of last day) in Phase 2C -

Parents can still withdraw, because there are parents who need to withdraw.

      But after 3 pm -
There should be no more withdrawal allowed.
      Only Permit registration, Yes.
But MOE should implement a cut off time for withdrawal, on the last day of Phase 2C

ESPecially in that critical last 45 mins (3.45 pm to 4.30 pm) -
You just can't simply allow last minute parents to walk in, and throw everyone else in the badly impacted, affected distance group off course, get pushed out without any chance to enrol in Phase 2C.

This is a very serious matter, that MOE has to look into.
If you are one of the pushed out parents directly impacted, you know how painful it is, to get pushed out.
IMO, in today context where multi million trade is done within seconds, why can't parent withdraw and reapply ? Especially since there might be genuine reasons.

I do think compulsory registration for within 1km on 1 and 2nd day.
no registration is allowed for within 1km on 3rd day. The 3rd day is for those staying more than 1km only and if need be add a 4th day.

So when MOE update their website daily, day 1 and 2 shows SC within 1km. No need to call school (some school don't even entertain). And even there is withdraw case, they can only reapply on day 3 or 4 and will be more than 1km.

So for those who have SD on standby will have limited chance as well.

Would it make the whole P1 reg process less stressful if there's a rule to state that if someone reg at an earlier phase (e.g. P2B), once that phase has passed, he can't go back to de-register to apply to a later phase when opportunity arises.

I agree with FQW's suggestion. If the parent has a choice of phase B or C, they should decide which phase they want to take on and register at that phase. Even if subsequent phase C shows that they have an advantage, they should not be allowed to \"jump ship\" as they have already exercise their \"rights\" to their privilege of registering at an earlier phase. It's only fair that other parents have a chance to exercise their \"rights\" - cannot be you get to choose all the cake and eat it based on what is best for you!

Works both ways: the schools have reserved the place for your kid, why should you be allowed to back out and opt for another \"better\" school later when you see the opportunity?

Also agreed that these 4 parents indeed went by the rules and played it to their advantage, and they did not break any rules so cannot fault them. If MOE does not address this, there are going to be more 4+pm registration on the very last day, with parents sitting in school waiting to take advantage of this situation.

Let say I own a car and also stay very near to MRT station.
One day, I heard that the expressway traffic is very bad. And taking MRT will be faster and I will likely be punctual for very very important meeting that matters my kid education.

So will you still drive or take MRT?
You can't be fault for owning a car but take MRT.
It is similar to P1registration withdrawal mentality.

I feel the same...once the parent has registered the child in phase 1/2A/2B, they should not be allowed to de-register after that.[/quote]
Bottom line, for those that have secured a place prior to 2C and giving it up for whatever reason is also taking a big risk. P2C itself is very competitive especially for popular schools, for those that have withdrawn, it is back to square one, everybody is on even ground.

For popular school, If you are more than 1km, by default chances of balloting is low and even if there is balloting, the chances itself is also very low.

why fret and get so stressed up over this.

      1. Do you seriously believe that by going to \"good\" schools your kids will turn out any different?

it has been shown time and time again its the upbringing and efforts of parents brining up the child and their inherent predisposition that makes them what they will turn out to be.
I see a trend of not so well educated young parents who get trapped in this beliefs whuch causes such a phenomenon in Singapore. If you noticed Top executives, top professionals., Doctors etc. do not fret like the average employees about their children's primary schools.
I am worried for these generation.
Our society have progress, many more parents are better educated and informed so I don't know how you derive at the trend.

My metaphor is MNC vs SME, who would want to enrol in MNC vs SME?
Competition at MNC would be tougher but then its come with much more benefits than SME, at least MNC on average pays more than SME...etc

Read in Lianhe Wanbao that the developer cut the price to about $2.2mio. About 12 units or so left.

Ref townhouse, I believe more than 50% unsold.
They probably want to cross min threshold, wait for a few more months, maybe more discount.
