I bought the full sets of 2015 top school exam papers(close to 15 schools) but I doubt DD able to even do more than 5 schools....the rest will be collecting dust...

will select some schools...definitely will be collecting dust because there is no time to do all the schools. the wasted subject will be for science since our kids are the last batch using old syllabus. math and english can give away if not completed.

I believe that further on in the year, the teachers will be giving out these papers to do as well as homework
Ali had a certain amount of savings in the bank.

In October, she spent 30% of her savings.
In November, she managed to save 1/5 of the amount of money she had left.
Then, she bought 2 calculators st $15.80 each and gave 3/8 of the amount that she had left to her father.
In December, she managed to save 40% of the amount of money she had left.
Finally, she had $6219.85 in the bank.
a) How much did she give to her parents?
b) How much was her original savings in the bank?

140%-->$6219.85
100% (Before December)-->$4442.75
5/8-->$4442.75
8/8 (Amount before giving to his father)-->$7108.40
Amount given to his father-->$7108.40-$4442.75=$2665.65
$7108.40+$15.80+$15.80=$7140
6/5-->$7140
5/5-->$5950
70%-->$5950
100%-->$8500

a)$2665.65
b)$8500

Thank you , TheSolver.
However, could you further explain ;
i) why 140%-->$6219.85 ( i interpret as 40% --->$6219.85)
ii) why 6/5-->$7140
Becoz there is an extra 40% on top of the initial amount of money (100%) and there is an additional 1/5 on top of the inital 5/5

All bulbs are in parallel arrangement

i thought should be seires one cuz they ask for shine the brightest one

I cannot remember exactly what is the question. But i think the options are:
1: 2 batteries connected 4 bulbs in series. (The brightness of each bulb is 1/2 unit.)
2: 2 batteries connected to 4 bulbs where there are 2 circuits. (The brightness of each bulb is 1 unit) http://i60.tinypic.com/2my11ly.png\">
3:???
4: 2 batteries connected to 4 bulbs while all bulbs are in a parallel arrangement. (The brightness of each bulb is 2 units.)

Hi,

I would like to know whether my answer is correct.

Ans: The tap is leaking resulting in water being wasted

Thanks
I am not sure, but it should be fine. Except that in this case, you may have to add a comma between leaking and resulting.
