Waaaa... u have your own thread! wooo.... u very on lah u. always so full of energy. Respect! tell me lah. what's ur secret. by the way, my kid got the trf to the sch i...i mean she... wants. wooooooooo and I'm LURRRRRRrrrRvin it. i mean She's loving it.

      Ehh you just knew? 😉

I just haven't logged in the last couple of months.

I thought I already shared with you my secret? I don't sleep much, that's all really. My mind is always thinking up stuff to do. :siao: I don't and can't take naps - I'd feel lethargic and getting out of that lethargy gets me cranky. You have lotsa energy too mah? I'm sure your boy will keep you more energetic from now on. He's such a cutie. :please:

You got to be... I mean, your kid has got to be the happiest girl in the world! :rahrah: Now both sisters are finally together and hopefully she's happier in a more vibrant school. A school is only as good as its educators. A school with all fanfare without the human touch counts for little in a child's development. I pray she will be in good hands. Catch up on how she's doing when you're free. You know where to find me.

I am very happy for you...
In Him we trust, ya..

Ehh, so that letter kinda helped aye? :preen:

PS. I wanna bake more like you! But that means, I need more time in a day!

u dont need to bake like me because no 2 bakers are the same! but honestly lah woman.... its apparent that ur bakings make me (and plenty other mommies here) drool so much we probably will need to drink more than 8 glasses of water for the day! even now, after looking at those pics, it makes me wanna ditch whatever im baking and bake what you baked. hur hur hur.

im volunteering alot in sch this yr. love what i see so far. my girls are settling in rather well. took abit longer for dd2 but thats expected lah cos she is quite introverted. They are in good hands. in Him we trust. 🙂

registering ur boy for p1 this yr ah? enjoy the remaining hs mths! just afew weeks back, i realised how much i miss hsing my dd2. i really miss my mornings with her. 😢 quiet and calm. not quite the same with this boy. he just toppled my baking trolley over a while ago. almost swallowed paper. chewed off a button from the tv remote. only managed to reply here cos he is napping now...... 😓

Oh wait! I'm guessin' you're more inclined to try for a baby boy to provide your personal Montessori enrichment in the comfort of your home. :please: Now.. about that prize...
      :nosebleed: [/quote]
By the way, am expecting number 3. Unsure of the gender yet but, disclaimer first, no prizes if its a boy. Haha.

      Hi tika,

Thanks for showing us your Montessori set up:)
      Really very impressive!
May I know where did you purchase the geometric insert from?

      Many thanks:)

      Hello 🙂

I got them from a very generous homeschooling mom whose kids have outgrown them. As we all know, the purchasing of Monte materials can blow a big hole in our pockets, so i am always on the lookout for second hand materials. Many of my other monte inspired friends get theirs from taobao or right to learn. The former provides good cheap pricing (not sure of quality) but waiting period is 1-2 mths before ur purchases arrive at ur doorstep. The latter is more expensive but you get to play with the materials sooner. Quality wise.... ok only lah.

i used plastic table cloths from Daiso. You can google for the many creative ways to DIY deco your child’s Ikea table and chairs. Plenty of ideas online. Some are really beautiful ideas too.

Those that can be DIY-ed, I did to the best of my ability.

You my dear, have inspired me to DIY some of my girls' materials. Before I joined this forum, my first ever diy montessori material was an Object Permanence box. I didn't know where to purchase one. So i used a cube tissue box and attached an external flap to it as the 'tray'. Then i was directed to this forum by an acquaintance and happen to stumble upon your post on DIY number rods..... got inspired, and proceeded to DIY those and lots of others too. :boogie: some i diy-ed just for variety (like laminated numbers and pom pom counters) and some cos i couldnt afford the real materials! like Continents Globe and Grammar Farm.

      buds:
Execution wise, btwn my two elder girls.. the end result varied due to the difference in their learning ability and also their characters in general.

Can't agree with you more. My two girls are like north pole and south pole. One's kinesthetic, the other visual. One's always looking to be engaged in activities with an adult, the other prefers to work independently. Whatever that works for my older one, required abit more effort on my part, for my younger one. But even so, I was still able to see positive results in my girls thanks to their exposure to Montessori education.

      buds:
Apart from the materials I have kept since my daughters' days, I have now amassed quite a humble collection to carry on Maria Montessori's legacy for my two little boys.
i have a small hmschool room to house all my diys and purchases. It was my kids' bedroom. We now call it M & M Montessori. Hee hee. I purchased the family kit to kick start my first born's homeschooling journey. Some materials are just....more beneficial if used in their original size. But alas... i have to make do with what I could afford then. (and now).

      Kam siaaaaaa!! :snuggles:

my eldest will be 6 next year. Time to hunker down and figure out if homeschooling her primary years would benefit her in more ways than one (and work for us *ME* as well).

I have frequent some of the sites u stated, i agree, super helpful sites they are. :lovesite:

Monte materials.... HAHA. hubby said i better decide what to do with them once our girls have no need for them anymore. Solution? Get pregnant again :scared: or teach Monte enrichment. No prizes for guessing which im more inclined towards. Hehe

buds hasnt been online for quite awhile now eh?

quixation: my sister is a head of dept in a local pri school. and her observations are that monte preschoolers tend to get bored easily in class because they’ve already covered so much during presch. so she has to set aside extra work to engage them just so their time is taken up ‘doing work’ instead of chatting with their classmates who needs more time to do their work cos its their first time tackling it. Hee hee. Any one else have any personal observations?
