Hi, hope some senior RGS girls can advise here ....

Any idea what time is reporting time this Sat for Founder's Day celebration ? I know it starts at 8 am but what time should everyone report to school? 7:20 am ? before assembly starts ?

Also, for next week's LJ, if the schedule on iNET indicates program starts at 1 pm, am i right to assume that DD only needs to report for school just before 1 pm?

During LJ week, if DD doesnt have any LJ program/lesson scheduled in the same day/time slot as 3rd lang class, she will still proceed to attend 3rd lang at moelc at the same time right ?

I would be appreciative and grateful for any info/advice. Thanks very much !

      Hi Orange juice,

For Founder's Day, the gals are to report to sch by 7.10am and be seated by 7.20am, in time for national anthem at 7.25am in their formal attire (with tie).

Yes, for LJ week, if program starts at 1pm, only need to go to sch before 1pm. If your DD has no LJ on Friday, no need to go to sch. Just report to MOELC at the usual time for her 3rd Lang lessons. There will not be sch bus available from RGS to MOELC during LJ week, so you'll need to arrange for your own transport to MOELC.

      Hope this helps. šŸ˜‚

      Hi Orange Juice,

      You're most welcome. šŸ˜‚

:congrats: to you & DD on getting into her CCA of choice. šŸ•ŗ
That was the club & society that she really wanted too, right? :boogie:

yes it is the club that she really wanted so she is really happy, now I tell her she has to do her part and be an active contributor to the club - that is only fair to the teacher i/c as well as her fellow members.

      Hi Orange Juice,
I'm sure your DD will give it her 100% since this is what she's really interested in. Have fun!! šŸ˜‰

      Hi,

I was browsing through the 2012 GIRO Deduction Schedule and just realised........ TODAY is the day of deduction of school fees (3 months) & supplementary fees ( 1 semester). :moneyflies: :moneyflies: :moneyflies:

If have EESIS, :moneyflies: :moneyflies: not so heart pain. If don't have, wallet very very pain. Btw for those who do not qualify for EESIS after PSLE, i just learnt that there is another chance in end Secondary 2! It's called Edusave Scholarships for Integrated Programme Schools (ESIP)- same quantum at $2400 and from Year 3 till Jc2 (4years) šŸ˜‰ šŸ˜‰

      Very true indeed.

So those that have EESIS, will need to continue to work hard to maintain and those without EESIS, can work hard to get ESIP. šŸ˜‰

hello, i just wanted to post a Thank You note to MummyStay and Tinkerbelle for their advice earlier. I emailed Ms Ong re my CCA queries and to my pleasant surprise, she assisted DD to get into one of her CCA choices. Thank you so much , if not for both of your suggestions, I may not have sent Ms Ong an email and DD may still be in limbo with CCA arrangement.

BTW, wishing everyone here a happy valentine's day šŸ™‚

      fix_you:
haha I think its just like, for the past 3 years in RGS we've already gotten used to paper handouts and doing not doing work online? All the new platforms- acelearning, moodle, new moodle, inet, edmodo, google groups/google docs, I guess it takes some time getting used to? I believe that to the Sec 1s, they will find it fun and all but for us, as we've already experienced what its like without using IT for lessons and its quite weird to have to change midway so we don't entirely enjoy it...

I completely understand where you're coming from.
After 3 yrs of paper handouts, guess the yr 4s will need some time to adapt to the new platforms of learning & re-condition their learning styles. Hang in there! :rahrah:
just wondering, how do your DDs find the 1-1 thing where they use their Macbooks in class! šŸ™‚

Our DDs have yet to start on 1:1. šŸ˜„

hmm then what have they been doing in class? our teachers have been attempting to try IT related stuff for every lesson and its quite siannish I rather have normal classes :(
Oh dear..... IT related stuff is 'sian'?
Hopefully, the lessons will get more interesting soon. :rahrah:

For DD's class, they've just been doing RGS worksheets, some group work & projects for various subjects this term.

Yr 1 will only attend the 1:1 briefing on the 29 Feb so I guess once all the Macbooks are configured to sch's requirements, they'll probably start using the Macbook next term.
It will be interesting to see how learning is done through 1:1.

      Tinkerbelle:

      Hi,

Just looked at the sch calendar and noticed that the Yr 1 gals are scheduled for 'Maths Exploration Day' (MED) on Monday & Tuesday of the March holidays; and Community First Aid (CFA) & CPR courses from Tuesdays to Fridays of the March holidays.

Any seniors or experienced mummies know if it's compulsory for the gals to attend 2 days of MED plus 4 days of CFA & CPR?
Or they just need to attend 1 day of MED & 1 day of CFA & CPR, depending on class allocation?

      Thanks. šŸ˜‚

For CFA & CPR, you only need to attend one day. As for Math Exploration Day, it is an extension of Math Active Day (MAD) held during Learning Journey week. The top 20 (I'm not too sure about the number) groups from all the games exhibited during MAD (every student is required to form groups to do one game related to Math) will be selected for MED where they will be exhibited alongside other schools for primary school children to play šŸ™‚

At least, this is if they haven't changed from my time.

      :thankyou: fix_you .

MAD & MED sounds interesting & fun. šŸ˜‚
