      Hi,

I was browsing through the 2012 GIRO Deduction Schedule and just realised........ TODAY is the day of deduction of school fees (3 months) & supplementary fees ( 1 semester). :moneyflies: :moneyflies: :moneyflies:

If have EESIS, :moneyflies: :moneyflies: not so heart pain. If don't have, wallet very very pain. Btw for those who do not qualify for EESIS after PSLE, i just learnt that there is another chance in end Secondary 2! It's called Edusave Scholarships for Integrated Programme Schools (ESIP)- same quantum at $2400 and from Year 3 till Jc2 (4years) 😉 😉

      Very true indeed.

So those that have EESIS, will need to continue to work hard to maintain and those without EESIS, can work hard to get ESIP. 😉

        Hi Orange Juice,

        You're most welcome. 😂

:congrats: to you & DD on getting into her CCA of choice. 🕺
That was the club & society that she really wanted too, right? :boogie:

yes it is the club that she really wanted so she is really happy, now I tell her she has to do her part and be an active contributor to the club - that is only fair to the teacher i/c as well as her fellow members.

        Hi Orange Juice,
I'm sure your DD will give it her 100% since this is what she's really interested in. Have fun!! 😉

I posted this on the RI thread because the Raffles Diploma is awarded at the end of Year 6 at RIJC. But thought I should reproduce it here as well.

                  —

Article from Lianhe Zaobao on Raffles Diploma:

Raffles Diploma with Distinction for top 20% VS Hwa Chong Diploma with Distinction for top 30%. Raffles Diploma with Merit for next 50% but can't find such information for Hwa Chong diploma.

50 Ivy League early admission offers and 69 conditional offers from Oxbridge setting a record year for RI(JC). Very impressive because would think only very very few goes to each of such institutions every year. Wonder what the comparable stats at the other mountain are 😉

I am not sure what is the weight these diplomas are playing in getting a place in the Ivies. These students, even without recognition of the diplomas, probably will have other achievements such as medals from the various olympiads that greatly increase their chance of a place anyway.

I doubt medals in various Olympiads means easy entry to the ivies before 'A' levels results are out. How can over 100 pupils win international Olympiads anyway? The number of medal winners are small. The rijc diploma gauges 5 key areas. One has to be outstanding in more than one of these few areas to receive distinction. Also, the consistently excellent performances of rafflesians in top colleges over the years hv long convinced these colleges tt rijc is a premier high school. With the diploma, it makes it even easier for these colleges to accept quality applicants prior to release of 'A' level results.
