    • RE: All About Choosing and Buying Pianos

I intend to sell my Yamaha upright piano (Examination Model : YM5 PE) comes with "Certificate of Origin" that the piano was 100% produced and manufactured in Japan. I bought it Nov 2006. It is in good condition with regular tuning and my daughter has been using it until Grade 8. As she intends to take Diploma, hence we need to upgrade our piano. For those who are interested, please pm me. Thank you.

Need advice from experienced parents whose child had taken 'A" level H2 Literature. Is it possible to self-study ‘A’ level H2 Literature for the GCE ‘A’ Level examination? TIA.

:thankyou: Gisten for your reply. Are they allowed to change the group?

No. Although if there are very special reasons, you can try asking.

May I know does the student choose their own project work group members or the school will assign the project work members for them?

The groups will be randomly assigned by the school. So within a group, it may not be necessary that all the members have chosen the same topic. The members have to discuss and thus decide whose idea to adopt, or totally come out with a brand new idea. The PW teacher will usually advise the groups which idea is more feasible to work on.

:thankyou: Gisten for your reply. Are they allowed to change the group?

      Pen88n:
So happening in JC threads nowadays:

      - NYJC 'kicking' EJC in its thread and comparing with TJC, DHS and RVHS
      - EJC 'kicking' RIJC / HCJC in its thread and comparing with top 5

Why need all these 'talk big' and prediction? All these talks without actual results yet are just empty talk. Let the actual results show itself then talk facts!
:? Wondering why need the 'kicking'' among the JCs? Every JC has its own merit and emphasis. As mentioned by the principal of EJC in the Straits Times, quoted \"The school, set to welcome first batch this year, will stress values, not elitism\". From here, we can see that the emphasis is not solely on the academic results. The basis for comparison is different. Thus, it is not necessary to wait for the actual results to prove. This is my personal view.

May I know will CCA points in JCs help in the entry to local universities such as for Secondary schools, there is a deduction of 2 bonus points for entry to JCs? TIA

No it won't. Local unis go mostly by UAS (Uni admission score), ie your A level or IB results. For courses where there are interviews, your resume might come into play. If you have outstanding CCA or other talents, you might want to apply via Discretionary Admission. For eg Quah Zheng Wen might have used his Olympic achievements to boost his already excellent IB grades to be offered admission to NUS medicine. Although he has recently given up the place to pursue his Olympic dream.

      :thankyou: , jtoh.
