bigd:Could our children could be taking the same bus 8? It's the new operator right? How much is the amended fee ? You're right that we have to rely on the school bus, which really leave us at their mercy to increase fee at whichever rate they like.
Think you can try to contact the STTA, the body that set or recomend rates for transport to schools.
I also nearly flipped when I saw $300 x2 (Jan and June) written on the buscard. :scared: I called the bus operator and said it was a mistake. :slapshead: However there is an increase of about 35% for my route (Redhill area). Not much choice if you want to take the school bus.

RE: Raffles Girls' Primary
Was informed yesterday that school bus fee increased by 40%! I had a shock and called the bus operator. He said that there was a mistake and that the increase should be 20%. I still find this increase too much but the reason given by him was that he just took over this route and compared the fee to other nearby routes. But I told him that the number of students taking the bus varied from route to route and there were more students taking my route. He then said that motor insurance was expensive.
What channels can I raise this to ? Would the school bother ? -

Agreed. Word has it that in one of the neighbourhood schools, 30 over students in the best class score 260 and above.more keen to know how many girls from E / F class(es) score :-
>= 260 to 269, minimal qualify for IP Sec school(s) ?
because if get 250, 251 or 252 lower range of 25x (although > 250 considered good), can't gain foothold into IP school, but can go O level track. We don't have any affliated Sec school to hold onto, unlike NYPS girls. -

Just curious, able to share what to ask the teacher during the PTC ? What are some of the good encounters of PTC that you had experienced ? During the mid-year, the teacher asked me what I wanted to know… academic or non-academic…

ER:
Thank you ER for the information.
Top 2 classes girls are grouped based on results of English, Maths and science only. They regroup for Chinese lessons.
Talking about school bus, I thought it's compulsory to have seat belts? My girl told me that the seat belt was not working in the school bus she took, so all the girls did not bother to fasten. :yikes: -
RE: Raffles Girls' Primary
I have a query with regards to the Higher Mother Tongue subject and the top 2 best classes (excluding GEP).
Do all the kids in the top 2 best classes take Higher MT subject ? In other words, if my child is selected for Higher MT but she opts out of it, does that mean she will not go to the top 2 best classes (assuming she gets very good grades for all her other subjects)?
Thanks in advance.
