Thanks for the reply!
Our initial plan was school bus too but after finding out the schedule, it seemed that our place is the 1st pick up and last drop off and she would need to board the bus at around 5.45am. Hence we dropped that idea and decided to drive as I have to send my younger girl to kindi as well.
First 2 days I was able to drive in to pick up. Today the situation seemed extra bad. I was about 20min early but the queue of parked cars was beyond hillcrest and already along dunearn rd. I was quite shocked so decided to try to find parking ( which was quite a nightmare) and walk in. DD1 was waiting at playground area but today parents were not allowed in anymore.
I am really new to the hillview area and the RGPS traffic. Wonder if it is better to wait out along dunearn rd to drive in or try to park and walk?
I've the same problem too... I live at Bukit Batok Central..... any parents would like to form a group to send each others DD to RGPS on rotational basis? -
Just received an email from school on subscription to +Venture Maths & Pathfinder Science magazines for P4.
Just seeking feedback from upper primary parents here on whether the 2 magazines are in your opinion, beneficial and useful to subscribe to.
I tried to find info for Pathfinder but can't find much info though.
Any feedback is appreciated. Many thanks

Was informed yesterday that school bus fee increased by 40%! I had a shock and called the bus operator. He said that there was a mistake and that the increase should be 20%. I still find this increase too much but the reason given by him was that he just took over this route and compared the fee to other nearby routes. But I told him that the number of students taking the bus varied from route to route and there were more students taking my route. He then said that motor insurance was expensive.
What channels can I raise this to ? Would the school bother ? -

Think you can try to contact the STTA, the body that set or recomend rates for transport to schools. Was informed yesterday that school bus fee increased by 40%! I also nearly flipped when I saw $300 x2 (Jan and June) written on the buscard. :scared: I called the bus operator and said it was a mistake. :slapshead: However there is an increase of about 35% for my route (Redhill area). Not much choice if you want to take the school bus. -

Could our children could be taking the same bus 8? It's the new operator right? How much is the amended fee ? You're right that we have to rely on the school bus, which really leave us at their mercy to increase fee at whichever rate they like.

The CCA bus fare has also increased dramatically for our route…
I would be more willing to pay the so-called market rate for bus fare if the service provided commensurates with the fare. However, for my route, the bus will reach the school around 6.30am, even though there is supposedly a guideline that the schools bus should not reach school earlier than 6.45am. The bus also detoured to pick up a bus aunty after picking up the girls very early. This bus aunty is meant for the kindergarten trip after dropping off the girls at school at 6.30am.
I did highlighted this to the school, my concern being that the girls will be forced to wake up incredibly early to reach the school at 6.30am. But the school’s reply was that they allowed the bus some allowance in reaching the school earlier, in case there is traffic jam etc. However, I do know that some of my girl’s classmates’ bus only reach school only around 7am, which is more reasonable to me.
So I am really not surprised at the massive traffic queue every morning outside the school. In fact, if the school bus can pick up the girls at more earthly hours and reach the school around 7am, I am sure more parents will be more inclined to put their girls in school bus, rather than braving the jam every morning… -
once the sch assigned a bus operator, we will be at the bus operator’s mercy… guess next year will be worse at Mount Sinai for those who stay far…
4yrs and i have been biting the bullet… 2yrs more to go… -
