Hi all, I do not have the IP schools papers nor do I have Geography, History, Science… etc. I only have the maths papers
I DO NOT sell the exam papers, I am providing them for FREE for you to photocopy and return =D I am a Maths teacher in a secondary school in Singapore and thus I have the papers. I seek all parents understanding to kindly give me a call at 92220737 to arrange for a meeting to collect the papers from me. Many parents have already received and photocopied their papers. RE: Sec 1 2012
Hey everyone,
You can buy the ink refill for printing. it cost me only $28.00 for black and the three primary colours. I have refilled my canon/HP inkjet countless times and they are still running on the introductory cartridges. I print whatever I want nowadays. Oh. I also refilled my samsung scx4300 laser printer toner too! Haha. My tuition centre literally survives on refill ink and toner. I NEVER once bought cartridges or toner. My HP inkjet is model 1000 and cost me only $39.00 to buy with introductory cartridges. That printer prints an average of 200 sheets a day. LOL. Super low cost and cheapo lah. Now you know why I never charge my students materials fees.
I bought the refill from sim lim square level 5 in a shop called sing ink. Damn professional. Remember bring your cartridge down so that they can show you how to do them at home yourself.
Hope that helps to whoever who want to print full colour anytime they want without cost considerations.
Regards,
Peter!! -

RE: O-Level Elementary Math
wei lun:
thks for your reply but need to use equation to solve this problem.
Hi wel lun,
Here you go:
Let the first digit be x,
Since the sum of the digits is 6, the second digit would be 6-x,
Therefore, the products of the digits would be = x(6-x)
= 6x-x^2
If the first digit is x, and it is a 2 digit number, x must be in the tens place, hence the NUMERICAL value of x would be = 10 x (x)
= 10x
Since the second digit is in the ones place, the NUMERICAL value of 6-x would be
= 1 x (6-x)
= 6-x
Hence, the NUMERICAL value of the 2 digit number would be = 10x + (6-x)
= 10x + 6 - x
= 9x +6
Since the products of the digits IS EQUAL to the 1/3 of the original number, we can construct the equation as follows,
6x-x^2 = (1/3) x (9x+6)
Rearranging the equation, we will have,
6x-x^2 = 3x+2
6x = x^2+3x+2
0 = x^2+3x-6x+2
0 = x^2-3x+2
x^2-3x+2 = 0
Factorising using the Cross technique you learnt in secondary 2,
You will get,
(x-2)(x-1)=0
x=2 or x=1 (first digit)
6-x=4 or x=5 (second digit)
Hence, the original number may be 24 or 15.
SOLVED! =D :imcool:
You may call me at 92220737 if you require any further assistance in these maths questions, I will be glad to help!

RE: Comparing Math Enrichment Programmes
Some tips: Don’t sign up with these so called ‘centres’.
Ask yourself: Are they profit centered or student centered?
They are running a BUSINESS. They hire teachers to teach and these teachers teach because they want the $. The centre focuses on profit and will hire the teacher as long as he/she is willing to teach. Quality Control? Nope. As an ex-teacher in 2 different prominent tuition centres in Singapore, I am DISGUSTED at their work ethics. Pui.
Try home small group tuition, and see the difference. The teacher you contact is most probably the one that will be teaching your child and it is most probably a one man show (no receptionist, no higher management or sales team that will MARKET and convince you to sign up for more than you need)
Hope it helps!=)

RE: Past-Year Secondary/O-Level/IP Exam Papers
Hi all,
No, I haven left the forum. Just that I am too busy to log in!!
I have received many requests for secondary school exams papers and glad that some of them have received them.
Just a note: I do not have Science, English, Literature papers… Because different schools teach the other subjects differently and have the syllabus differs. For example, some schools teach science in a module manner: Physics Chem Bio at the lower sec while some teaches science as General Science. My apologies for not clarifying! SORRY!
Also, each IP school syllabus is different from one another, So I do not also provide the papers from HCT, RGS, ACSI etc… SORRY!
I DO however have the papers for MATHS mainstream school. You are welcome to photocopy them and use them!!! But you will have to pay for the photocopy yourself.
My apologies again for not coming back!! -
RE: if u think ur child is good enough ll u still give tuition?
Success=?
How do you define success or good enough?
What exactly is tuition and how it can benefit your child?
Never force your child to go to tuition. What if your child request for help in his or her academic subjects? Most of my students always commented that their school teachers are unable to teach them properly and they lose motivation. What they really want is to score well in their exams. They really want to! But they have no means to do that themselves. Thats where tuition comes in. Tutors like myself do not just teach. We form the basic motivation for the students to even get interested in their subjects. Most of the time,they lose interest is because of the school teachers. AND its true.
Though I agree that academic success may not be success defined here, academic success gives your child confidence. Lets say your child would like to set up his/her own business in the future and carrying the notion that he/she is a drop out, may just decide not to do so as he has always failed. (In school)
Tuition may not be imperative, but finding a good one certainly helps. Always look for a passionate teacher and not not one that only looks at $$.
My apologies if I offended anyone in this post. -
RE: Adam Khoo Learning Centre - Discussion
Hi Claire,

Hey Lisa,
So sorry it dosn't helps...VisualTextEducation:
hi Lisa,
I have checked out the website... Beestar isnt going to help einleda... Her son needs a proper teacher to teach her son maths personally.....
My apologies if I offended you. You don't have to apologize. It might be good for your children, and you were just being nice trying to share. What I actually meant was that it might not be suitable for einleda's child case.

Peter
