PSLE is both stressful for parents and the child.

Just bear in mind that whatever the outcome is is not a measure of success or failure.
Sometimes no matter how much preparation and hardwork is put in the result may not be within expectation.
Really depends also on the performance on the day of exam.

Doing the practice papers helps to prep them for the actual paper in terms of time management.

I believe it is easier to start w the ErSan Kuaidu as the words are on cards and there are picture to make the learning more interesting. After the child is interested in learning then it is much easier to progress to 四五 as this series doesn’t have as much pictures so in a way less interesting unless the parent knows how to make examples and make Chinese learning fun ! 加油啦！

Have you tried Enid Blyton books?
I think Horrid Henry is also suitable if you are not opposed to the contents.

I have used both Peter and Jane series, Rigby Star Readers and Oxford Reading Tree. I find that the contents of Peter and Jane is too dry to captivate most young children although their methodology is good.

My kids like the Rigby star readers because they are more interesting and varied.
