I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree on this one. In modern usage ‘moot’ usually means irrelevant or having no practical value. The word originally meant ‘debatable’ - but it is precisely the inconclusive nature of such debates that renders discussion meaningless. Nowadays it is rare to find anyone implying the former.
