Can someone help on this one?

      http://i62.tinypic.com/33ubn74.png\">

Answer sheet says (1). Why not (3)?
The short answer is D is possible. The container is apparently oval shaped, with 'handles'.

A is the only shadow/projection that is not possible (the handles shown in the 3D view are not thick enough to cast a seamless shadow with the body).

    • RE: Sec 4 probability Question

      For each candidate, P(pass) is 21/25 and P(fail) is 4/25. P(pass) = 3/5 + 2/5 x 3/5

Then for 3 candidates taking test, there are 8 possible outcomes (in terms of pass/fail), of which 3 are 1 candidate only passing; 100, 010, 001.

The probability of this outcome can be seen simply in a probability tree and is:
      3 x (21/25 x 4/25 x 4/25) = 0.064512.

We multiply because it is a contingent tree, you only follow the paths in the space that give 1 pass only.

Apologies if I am wrong, a bit HAZY today.

      Hi

Any recommendation on the brand of bread maker to get and the model no?

Am considering a few brand whirlpool BM 1000, Kenwood BM 250,260,450 and Panasonic SDP 104.Any advice ?
Can't answer all your questions but just wondering where you can buy Panasonic bread makers in Singapore? Last time we looked and as far back as I can remember they're not available here? When our 2007 Panasonic broke down this year (motor drive sheared off, everything else still worked, grrr) we replaced it with a Kenwood 250 from Robinsons - and it has been much better than I expected for the price, the bread recipe we use produces the same quality as the Panasonic. It's a bit noisy though.

      9. We will have a lesser chance of doing well in examinations if we do fewer assignments.
Good post but, 9. - really?
I much prefer less chance of doing well.
A lesser chance sounds very peculiar and stilted to me.

I was just talking about the difference between less and fewer to my P1 girl at lunch and how it seems we are losing the battle: people increasingly use less when they should say fewer, even on the radio and TV. According to my P1 girl, the distinction is whether the thing in question is countable or uncountable, so in your example if we substitute work for asignments then less work would be fine, if anyone is wondering. (Probably not .)

      Personal quote

When evil has been done, not trying to un-do it is a sin.

It's time to do thing right

And not let the historical mistake continue.

I feel LGBT should never be accepted as \"normal\" behavior. You can accept a person as they are, but not accept their behavior or lifestyle as being \"normal\".
Can you give an example of how you apply this wisdom in everyday situations?

How does your acceptance or non-acceptance affect anyone else (i.e. why would they care what you feel)?

      - using votes to influence politician - I read in a forum that a LGBT supporter says he will be voting in a opposition that will support their cause.

    • RE: 2014 P1 Registration Exercise for 2015 In-Take

      zp1503:
For Phase 2C balloting, how does it goes? Example there is 20 places for 60 people. And this 60 people consists of those from 15 Phase 2B & 10 less than 1km etc etc. So procedure is:

      1. 15 Phase 2B straight in
      2. 5 out of 10 less than 1km will get in
      etc etc?? :siao:
Those who fail to get in at 2B (because they are balloted out) can join the 2C ballot where they \"start again\", they have no priority over any other 2C applicants (in the same distance category). Hope that helps.

      15 July 2014 (born 2008) : end of Phase 2A2

      Nanyang 2A2 : 69 registered, 74 vacancies

2A2 : no need to ballot

      http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissi ... ukit-timah

4 other schools need to ballot :-
      http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singap ... past-years

      ==========================================

      Vacancies for Phase 2B : 23, compared to 36 last year (2013)
      lesser by 13

      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/event ... n-phase-2b

      Vacancies for Phase 2C : 22
To clarify, last year 32 applicants within 1km were vying for the 25 places available at 2B. (The 4 applicants outside 1km - making the 36 you state above - should have been advised not to register, but they did for whatever reason.)

A friend just shared this link...

      http://hedgehogcomms.blogspot.sg/2014/0 ... ref=fb&m=1
Good link. Leaving aside her personal religious beliefs, this part chimes with what I wrote above:

      Quote begins, my emphasis added:
\"But in the area of homosexuality, straight Christians know they have not and will never sin there. So it's easy to focus on that. If that's true, then we need to take a long, hard look at ourselves and realise that our feverishness against homosexuality has nothing to do with righteousness and everything to do with self-righteousness. Another possible reason is the fear of a community we don't understand. And so instead of trying to understand and empathise, we choose to shun and despise.

Now, let's come back to the book banning and look at the books in question: parents said they didn't want their four-year-olds to accidentally come across the books and somehow be corrupted by the gay agenda. First, there are like a gazillion books in the library and the chance of your kid picking it up is already slim. Second, if you are a concerned parent, you're likely to pick the books for your four-year-old. But ok, for the sake of argument, let's say your child really does pick out this one book unsupervised and reads about two male penguins looking after a baby penguin. What are the chances he'll make the connection: \"Oh! It's telling me a family can have two daddies and no mummy!\" And then, finally make the further ludicrous connection: \"I therefore want to be gay!\" Seriously. Adults are the ones who project their own beliefs and prejudices onto things. Not children.\"
