Hi I have passed grade 8 25 years ago but haven’t touch it for long time except helping my kid to practice piano after music lesson, is it ok if I coach my kids using books first before sending to crash course? Or it will be too hard? Which book with answer key is recommended under new syllabus?
Anyone has comment on Lina Ng, Ying or official ABRSM book by grades? Definitely need answer sheet as I need to brush up again. -

Abrsm sure refund.Last time I helped my students registered the exam thru credit card, they refund to me without notice. The money credited back to the credit card account.
Child was registered w grade 5 theory exam on 28 March. Now that it's postponed until further notice, shld I get a full refund or wait?
Full refund means to register for Oct exam but clash w p5 SA2, but wait means reschedule could be July or later, unknown.
The tricky part is I have terminate child from music school, we enrolled specially for this theory exam -

RE: All About Choosing and Buying Pianos
for a learner of ABRSM diploma, is it a must to get Grand piano ( or at least Yamaha YU5 series ) ? can someone share your experience ? thank you :)
I don't think it's a must to get a grand piano. Most important piano keys must have good depths and range of tone colors. Pedal mechanism must be precise too and allow for different levels of depression. IMO, a U1 or K5 is sufficient. Though if money and space are not an issue, it is of course more preferable to get a full size grand e.g. C3 or RX3. It is always a pleasure to play on a good grand and definitely more motivating to practice all the diploma repertoire on it. High end uprights
Thank you Dreamaurora
Oh, but U1 is shorter and i thots is only for up to grade 8 (sorry i may be wrong).
Someone recommend me Yamaha U3 ? what do you think ? :)
Fully agreed. Some of the Diploma pieces need sostenuto pedal, must top up a bit to get YUS5.Recently I had 2 students upgraded to YUS5 and K8.I prefered K8.
