In my ds GE class, all those >80% ones score 26++ and above, those below 80% ones score 25++, so there is good reason why COs are offer to those > 80%.

I fail to understand why some parents feel stressed just because the names and scores of a handful of top students out of a cohort of say 50,000 students are made known to the public. :? :skeptical:

I don't think parents are really stressed by the announcement of the top scorers.

I think it's misplaced, the source of stress.

I think it is just an action in-line with Ministry's direction of not to \"over-stress\" on academic result from now on. Long time ago we never have such thing right and most of us never even studied for PSLE...

So is it confirm announcement by school at 12.00 nn?

MOE only said they wouldn't announce. They didn't said school or student themselves cannot announce. If the TOP student or parent want their face in newspaper, they can approach Zaobao themselves. Must have faith with the GEP teachers and your kids. The so-called enrichment for subjects may not be suitable for the GEP kids as there is no critical mass in the market, unless you are talking about Music, sport or arts.

There are some that send their kids becos as they may be scoring ard 75 marks, which I understand is the passing mark.

Has the GE baseline mark change again? I thought the baseline mark is 70% not 75%. :?

I personally think 80% is already very good so I don't really agreed on that part \"As long as they are not scoring 75 -80 marks (passing mark), then let the kids enjoy their enrich experience\".

The so-called baseline 70% is just to decide if the kids will do HMT in P5. The passing mark is always 50%.

Glad that we went for the briefing. DS is convinced that GEP curriculum is something he would like to try, he thinks the student briefing is great and he actually enjoyed the session. From not wanting to go to he is definitely going for it.

For the benefit of other who might want to know, this year out of 4000 who cleared first round, 557 made it to GEP, of which 325 are boys and 232 girls.

School posting result out on 26th Nov.
