For Q4, not too sure as well, but preserve has the meaning of keep things in the same state (original form); hence my answer. -

Hi Savoury sweet,Hi can someone please help with the following qs
\"It's time you.............the stuff in your room,\"Mother told Tina.
1.clear 2.clears 3.cleared 4.clearing
Ans: 3
Should'nt it be 1?? Thanks
The answer should be 3 because mother told Tina. Told is past tense therefore the answer should be cleared.
-
KP2:
Found it funny though; since when would a person use past tense when issuing instructions? The word told indicates the action was in the past, yet at the point in time, surely the present tense is used?

4) running
Given answer (1). Why is that so?

Mum1113:
It is because of the word \"has\" in the sentence. Hence, we have to use the past participate tense, and the past participate tense of the word run happens to be \"run\".Hi - kindly assist this qn please?

Hi there
Can anyone recommend a theme-based vocab book at P6, please? Buy theme, I mean a section say flowers, office-working, canteens, etc.
I have the EPH Complete Practice Book, but it is insufficient. All help, labelling book name and author is much appreciated.
Cheers. -
Dear All
Oral for scene in classroom.
Two students are talking to each other, oblivious to teacherโs presence, and the teacher is staring angrily at them.
Can we say the kids are ACTING UP? Is it appropriate to say they are acting up when they are just chatting away and not being aware that the teacher is staring angrily at them?
Thanks! -
You may wish to buy the green colour theme-based book '500 phrasal verbs in action' by Verne Maree, by Success Publications. It has exercise after every theme. but i find the exercise may not be sufficient. In every theme, there are conversations among different people under different settings related to the theme.
