You can see the picture of My PAL PSLE Science Guide here:

Yes the guide book is available at Popular Bookstore. New Edition.
It also has a workbook. Get both.

Get both guide and work books and make use of them effectively. They are not cheap, $17 for guide and $9.50 for workbook, but if it increases the student's chance of getting A*, then it is worth it.

Worth the investment if your child benefits from it. I like the guide book which is informative and relevant.

Hi Octopusmum,
HI all

i joined a couple of days ago and have a son who will be taking psle this year. qtn:
1) i am thinking of getting top schools' past year papers for him but not sure if he has the time to do it. this is just the first week but he already has so much homework that he doesn't have time to do the assignments i gave him.
should i still get the top school's past year papers for him?
Is it sufficient just to rely on past PSLE papers?
May I know where do you get the past PSLE papers ? for all 4 subjects ?

Hi, I am new to this forum..just joined a moment ago. 😄

My daughter is sitting for PSLE this year too. Woah, time flies. I just started her on enrichment class for English and looking for a Math tutor to replace her current one as the tutor has just moved on to a new job which is very demanding. Checking out if anyone has a good Math tutor to recommend? Thanks.

Cheers!

Yes concentrate on P3 to P6 topics for science.

I revise previous topics concurrently with the current topics in school. Eg- dd (p5 actually but must start preparing rite ;)) is learning cycles in school now. So I will take the cycles topics from P3-P4 and revise/ integrate with p5 topics to show relation and enhance understanding.

And when I get her to practice exam questions, I use my compilation (topical questions from p3-p6) for her to revise. - SK

A newbie here!

A bit worried about the Science - looks like the format this year will be different from previous years. The open ended questions tend to focus on real applications/intsruments with questions simplified to the concepts. Any idea how to get the kids to get the gist and not get confused by the setup

Have more confidence in the teachers. I am sure they would prepare the kids well for the new format.

My son will be sitting for his PSLE this year as well. So busy with supplementary lessons (3X a week!) and CCA, he hardly has tiime for anything else. On other days, he has tons of homework to finish. I saw him crying once, telling me that he's tired, after 2 hours of 'unfinished' homework. When I tell him to stop, take a break and watch TV or play some computer games, he will refuse as he's afraid that he can't finish his work and will get a scolding from his teacher. I pity the children nowadays. I don't remember having to do so much work back then. 😐

yes science is going to be different this year. i started with this year portions interactions and forces from my pals guide .

be careful when giving the kids past year qs , as someportions are deleted for this year.
my sons school is now focusing only on CA1 and science will be taught after this.

Unfortunately this new format is being discussed only this year, whcih means they have just a few months to prepare for the P3,P4 and P5 topics. As it is p6 is such an intense year! Anyway, its the same ofr all the kids .
Just wanted to know if there are any good books out there covering this approach...
i have a parent briefing for P6 in couple of weeks, may have a better understanding them
