Your daughter's hair, long or short?

Well for my dd's primary school, Chongfu Primary, didn't allow them to keep long hair unless they were in chinese dance too. This rule still goes on. She joined dance till Primary three and quit and kept short hair and she loves it. But she is going for a change now in secondary one, long hair!super_dad:

Yes .... ATS used to have the school rule, girls not allowed with hair beyond collar. Only those in special CCA, eg. chinese dance are allowed for long hair. However, I heard there is a change now, not very sure. They are relaxing on this rule.
Heard that Nanhua sec, keep short or else, long hair must tie two pleats. I think its true because I have been seeing many Nanhua Sec girls, those with long hairs are with pleats. So cute !

I think it is better for the girls to have shoulder length hair. At least that will make them look like a girl mah. Sometimes short hair girls look like boys ?

My daughters? Very, very long despite swimming everyday. The girls did not really cut their hair since birth, but recently, DD2 decided to chop off everything!!! Now her hair is so short!
DD1 still has buttock length hair. Very good quality, brown kind. I like that… I learnt how to do french plaits just to plaid their hair nicely. Also learnt all sorts of hair tricks for fun. I think the hair really helps the bonding part. O, besides the nails. They are into nails, too.

Its been 3weeks not since my DDs had cut their thair short and I think it good. SInce school started, they need not spend so much time in the morning and can sleep a little more.
However, i realised that their hair grow a bit fast and their fringe about to reach their eyes. Anyone here actually trim their DD fringe for them? -
I've finally figured out how to do my girl's ballet bun over the internet.
No need claws, just use \"U-shape\" pins and net. But I still hate to do her bun because her hair is so thick and hard to hold tight! Also tiring to blow dry after every shower :rant: -
My DD has long hair. The only time she had short hair was when she was a botak baby.

When i was in primary school, there was this bunch of girls who always did badly in exams. Once, i returned to the classroom during recess to get something…saw the bunch of girls there combing each others long long hair, making remarks like:
"Your hair is so long and smooth, like Barbie doll!!"
and they would spend all day playing and combing their hair and comparing it, even during class…they all carried pink schoolbags and had Barbie waterbottles LOL
The girls who did well academically all had shorter hair, above the shoulder type.
In sec sch, I couldn’t comment as I was in a boy’s school.
In JC, the best performing girls also had short hair.
In my own extended family, the women with long hair all had less illustrous careers, while my aunts who are high fliers in their career all have short hair. Even looking at the female MPs, there is such a trend, with only one with long hair.
I wonder if scientifically, there’s any link? Maybe long hair promotes bimbotism?
My wife from a girl’s school, also remarked that she found it true…and thus our daughters are not to have hair past their shoulders until they are 18, then they can make their own choices. -

My girl's into ballet, no choice but have long hair.
I do not want her to be less smart than her mummy cos mummy has short hair during her hay days in school and did well!!!
Nevermind, after ballet exam, cut to back length, no so bad right, skunk?

Luckily, my MIL does the hair for DD1 for ballet. She uses a net and U-shaped pins too but she braids the hair first. For us, it was a headache at first cos DD1's hair is very fine and not thick enough. Also very \"slippery\" so it was difficult to secure. I think her hair is thicker now so it's easier now.I've finally figured out how to do my girl's ballet bun over the internet.

My elder daughter has naturally curly brown hair that puffs up if not tied up. She used to be teased at P1 until her classmates got used to her. Seeing that she was bothered about her puffy hair we allowed her to grow it till below the armpit so that we could braid it to tame it. But the long hair took up too much of everyone’s time with all the oil, deep-conditioning, curl-enhancer cream etc. I finally persuaded her to have it cut to above chin length and just use a hair band.
This year she is in P3 and have different classmates. The teasing and name-calling started again. She came home yesterday and cried. Blaming me for cutting her hair. She said that if she still had the long hair at least she could braid it. It was heart-wrenching to see her going through what she is going through as I have naturally wavy hair too except they are not so curly. She wanted to rebond her hair but I told her she’s too young for that. I really don’t know what to say to make her feel better and not be bothered by her hair. Any parents out there in similar situations can advise?
