Hi
Can parents whose kids in msh provide me feedback about the school.
Is the school good? Hows the kids behaviour /character?
What questions will be ask during interview by the vice principle? -
May I know what time will the school ends for p3? They need to stay back for extra class? will there be school bus after that?

We speak mainly English at home. My son is coping alright with Chinese in school, can read 90% of what was taught in school though not very good with writing though. I should think he would be able to cope with the normal Chinese. But not sure if that’s sufficient for him to cope with Higher Chinese.

HCL is not very difficult in P1. You can go to Popular to browse the text books. It's only a few more extra words and another enriched passage. The main text is the same as normal Chinese.
Just observe his P1 CA1 grades first... but if you have extra money to spend on something, no harm going for enrichment in K2 where they teach Hanyu Pinyin for P1 prep. -
Jus checking, will the kids need to keep P3 books or worksheets & test papers for P4 streaming or PSLE?
-
Thanks for the advice, Kiasu Grand Master.

Hi, any one can shed some light on how streaming from P2 to P3 is done? Thanks!
-
for the past few years, it’s always been random, meaning all classes are mixed ability. The streaming according to abilities/HCL is done from p4 to p5.
-
Thanks lexis. So it will be a big mixing of the boys or only some will get streamed off with majority still in tact to move to the next level?
-
the boys are quite evenly mixed. a couple from p2 will follow your boy up but there’ll be boys from other classes too.
not sure about other kids, but by the end of p6, my son knows many boys from various classes!
today’s my son’s last proper primary school day in MSHS, and I am feeling so wistful! He has had such a great adventure there for the past 6 years… will miss it when he moves on to sec school.
