Hi, May I know whether the white uniform is the same as NYPS’s uniform? Any other uniforms to buy? thanks (need to know as I will be away and asking someone to do this on registration day).

It's different. For the top, the words \"nanyang\" have different fonts for NYPS and NYGH. But for the skirts - can't tell the difference, probably the material. -

GLORYmum:
My apologies, Rain is correct, \"O\" level class starts next year for Sec 3.Tetsujin:
Nanyang DO NOT have a O level class like HCI.
NYGH does not have a O level class this year yet.
O Level class is starting next year for Sec 3.
Just for some parents who see this development as negative, I would like to share that it isn't. My daughter went to Nanyang and my son went to HCI. I have seen how this system have helped students who just couldn't get use to the IP program methods of teaching and learning switch to the O level class at Sec 3, and did very well to go on to good JCs like Victoria JC. IP is not for everyone and it is good to have a system in place to \"catch\" them if they fall through rather them push them through and they don't do well at their A levels. Just my 2 cents. -

Is the chinese standard in nygh very high? Is it stressful studying in nygh? I heard from someone that they are still using wooden chairs and tables and their toilets are very small, is it true?

dd says the Chinese std is high but the teachers are very supportive. The teachers teach them the different techniques to write compo and different formats for compo etc. The teachers will tell them the background of the stories in the textbooks and make the lesson very interesting. They make learning Chinese fun and easier to absorb. She totally looks forward to Chinese lessons. The chairs and tables are not wooden, but she says they are very nice, very clean and in very good conditions. And toilets are not small at all. She says it is shopping-centre size and very clean. -

The Chinese standard is manageable but unfortunately dd class was assigned a Chinese teacher who does not teach much; so in my case, dd interest in Chinese drop and the teacher does not even tell the class what is being tested for block tests nor go through the assignments with them. Really hope he luck improve and she gets better teacher next year!NeedToKnowMore:

Hi - what is the school policy on full uniform or are girls allowed to wear school t-shirts with the skirt on most days?

On normal sch days, the girls must wear hongzi (full uni). They will still need to change out of their PE tees after PE lessons. On special occasions eg. Cross Country the girls are allowed to wear their level tees, etc...
