In order to qualify for either phase 2a(1) or 2a(2) -

      i)
The father of the child must have studied in ACS Barker primary before.
Even if studied before in ACS Secondary, but not the primary, also no use.

      Phase 2A1 -
this phase is for the old boys of this school.

The child's father must be an old boy of ACS(P), and also an alumni member of the ACS OBA. (Old Boys Association)

      Phase 2A2 -
this phase is for the child's father -
who was an old boy of ACS(P), but not an alumni member of the ACS OBA.

      ii)
In order for your daughter to enter MGS (Bukit Timah) primary :-
the mother of the child, must have studied either in MGS primary or MGS Secondary, before.

      MGS is a full school.
This means that even if the mother had studied previously in MGS secondary, but never in MGS primary before -
the child can still join MGS, under phase 2A.

But, there is no such thing that -
because daughter study in MGS, therefore can pull in the sibling brother automatically, into ACS Barker primary. This does not hold. (invalid)

Similarly, the other way round (also invalid ) -
because son study in ACS Barker / Junior primary, therefore can pull in sibling sister automatically, into MGS primary.

However, if parents are Methodist church member (can be from any Methodist church ) and stay less than 1 km from the school, parents can ballot, under phase 2b, using the letter issued by Methodist church pastor.

Every batch around June timeframe (P1 registration is due in July, each year), pastors will ask / announce in church - any parent here with us this year with kids due for enrolment, into a Methodist affliated primary school ?
If yes, pls come forward, let us know.
      However, the ultimate decision -
whether or not to issue parents the coveted letter, still lies with the respective church pastor.

May I know if there are parents here whose kids are enrolled in ACS(J) or ACS(P) and have mild autism or Asperger's syndrome? I will appreciate if you can share if the kids are adjusting well in school and whether the exam pressures are just too much even in ACS(J) or ACS(P). Much appreciated!

Yes, there are special need kids, in both acs (junior) and (barker) primary.

          The school encourage greatly :-
Acs want every special need child , to succeed.

However, if any parent feel the need to defer primary 1 entry, may meet up with the form teacher(s), for a quiet discussion. The teacher will also inform parents what are their expectations. But school will want to find out why child need to defer.

The school is very open to shadow teacher(s) in certain cases, if costs of hiring one (around $4000 per month) is not an issue.
However, some parents may not wish to hire, bec $4000 per month can be better spent, on example: sending the child for therapy, etc.

            Hi,

Will appreciate if some parents here could give me a heads up on this school. thanks.

My hb is an ex-ACS and we are just from humble background. As I will need to decide if I want to register for PV in other neighbourhood schools, I like to know if it is true that acsp is mostly for rich kids…cos I do not wish my boy facing such peer pressure on this and that.
Even hb himself is also hesitate to let our boy goes back to study his alma mater.

Hence, really hope to hear opinions from the inside. Thanks again.

              Hi ACPS parents,

I wonder if anyone has PE attire to donate to orphans in Cambodia? The orphanage I work with needs PE attire (uniform) for the younger children aged 5-8.

If any of you or a group of you are able to arrange a collection of and donate your children’s outgrown ACPS attire I would very much appreciate it!

              Do PM me.

Ps. The orphanage is run by the Operation Hope Foundation, a Singapore-based charity.

                Hi,

Anyone’s son is in ACS Barker Road or ACS Primary, and living in Pasir Ris? I’m looking at forming a one-way carpool to school. I’ve tried getting the school bus but they are full and we will be on wait list, and the pickup time is very early - 5.30am.

Anyone interested to explore this with me can PM me.

                  Hi parents,

May I know if both ACSP and ACSJ are affliated to the secondary school?
                  What is the difference?

                  Regards,
                  ruigal

                        HI

I have a few queries as son is enrolling in next year under alumni.
                        1) Is there any in-house student care in ACS and what is the contact?
                        2) Anyone has placed their kids at Kiddiewikie? My son is in Kiddiewikie (ENV building branch) and teacher recommend to their other outlet (near carnhill cc) with student care. I am still considering whether to put at in-law house or student care.
                        3) Does the school bus drive to anywhere? I heard from my hubby that ACSP school bus seems to be able to go anywhere in the island which i am quite skeptical. Is there a school bus to Toa Payoh Lor 7?
                        4) When is the orientation usually?
