It is a nice gesture of you thinking to buy a bike for DH.

I hope I can give some input.
First question. Do you think DH will like a road or mountain bike?
Including accessories $1.5k will get you a basic Al frame bike. Tough to find one that will \"fascinate\" DH.
There are many bike shops in Vertex. Go check it out!
Also most neighborhood bike shops do carry some decent bikes. You should find one that will meet your requirement.
I ride a Tri bike for races. Don't think DH is keen on this 🙂

Mod, should this be moved to sports?

I think a bike is a very personal item for a man. Better bring him to the shop to try out. There are too many varieties.

          Hi,

Has anybody let their kids try the trikke bike before? It looks safe and fun… Just wanna know if it’s difficult cos my son has motor planning issues…

          Thanks in advance!

I second the suggestion to take your hubby with you so that he can pick out a bike that suits him. He will need to get the bike fitted to ensure that he can ride it comfortably, so unless the shop has a good returns policy, it’s probably better not to surprise him by buying him a bike on your own.

Unfortunately, you won’t find a titanium frame bike for $1,500. If your hubby is only going to be riding on park connectors, why not consider a foldable bike? There are now many brands on the local market to choose from, and you can get a pretty decent one for your budget.

Hi, I want to get a bicycle for my 4 yr old daughter but I’m not sure which brands are good. Any recommendation? I got her a Ybike previously but it’s more for learning to balance etc. now, I’m thinking of getting a bicycle with pedals so that she can really learn cycling. Thanks in advance!

                Hi,

                Go down to TOY R’US.
You should be able to find one for your kids.

Hi, if you don't mind, please take a look at my daughter's bike.
Disney Brand, with training wheels(Selling at $35). My daughter is N2, now she can ride this bike without wheels. 😉

I just picked up a new hobby... cycling. Well, actually it is more of reviving my love, rather than picking it up new. I used to cycle everyday to school when I was in college. I was able to ride with hands in my pockets to protect them from cold during those days, but I would be probably get a few broken bones as souvenirs if I try that now 🙂

I got myself a 16-inch foldie, and I have been riding between my home in Paya Lebar and Marina Barrage along the Kallang Park Connector. Roundtrip journey is about 12km. It's a beautiful ride, nice and windy, and what makes it really fun is to have my 9yo daughter cycling with me during the weekends! She really loves cycling too. The dry spell in the last few weeks has a silver lining - we were never caught in the rain.

I bought a kite so that we can literally go fly a kite at our destination. And the Satay club next to Gardens by the Bay isn't helping much in my objective to lose weight 🙂

I wanted to join the upcoming OCBC cycling event this weekend, but was too late in registering for it :(. If anyone know of any other cycling events in Singapore, do post them here in this thread.

                        Thanks!
