Recommend to take Ritalin (any feedback on this medication)?
Alternative
BCI Programe - Brain Computer Interface (anyone has gone through this)
Teachers strongly recommend Ritalin…

I would try other methods (eg. behavioural training etc) before using medication. Even if you choose medication, you might want to use it for limited periods, although the transitions into and out of medication could be problematic.

Hi
Is ADHD curable or would it improve over time when the child get older?
Does ADHD affect social interaction with others ?
Having ADHD would it affect child’s academic? -
Snow24:
The underlying trait will always be there, but the child can be taught and trained to manage himself and develop better self-control. Paying attention for extended periods will always be tougher for him than others.Hi

ADHD can affect social interaction if the person cannot concentrate long enough to listen to another person, I guess. I have encountered people who are always jumping from one thing to another, and it is hard to carry on an extended conversation.
Academic performance required paying attention in class and staying on task to complete work or studies, so yes, ADHD can affect academic work, especially at higher levels. -

How to train preschooler with ADHD to manage himself and develop better control? -
Snow24:
Read this thread from the beginning! Or look up some learning disability websites or books. There are lots of self-help advice for parents available. My daughter is ASD, not ADHD, although she has attention issues too and we thought she was ADD initially. Basically, we just focused on training and teaching in small steps until some behaviours become habitual. As the child gets older, they can also learn how to spot when their attention is wandering and pull themselves back, but this may only happen around mid- to late-primary school. But my daughter is still the dreamy, not paying attention type a lot of the time. Her teachers all figure out that she is that kind early on in the year! Even when talking to her, she can drift off.Hi SimKhoo
