      KopiYing,

Congrats on the birth of your baby girl.
Take care of your health, lie down flat as much as possible and enjoy your confinement although it’s really hot of late.

I love all food related to confinment. Lots of ginger, lots of saseme oil ... yummy !!

yup.. me too! me too! My fave was stir-fried chicken with ginger and sesame oil.

Actually I was very fortunate during my confinement. My mom helped to take care of me when I had DD1 and MIL took care of me when I had DD2.

Sorry.. the following is not about confinement food, but still related to the confinement period:

KopiYing, if you can, u shd try getting a massage lady to your place to give you post-natal massage. I did that for DD2 and it really helped with the \"wind\" problem. The massage also helped to soothe my backache problems and I felt that my body recovered much faster with my second pregnancy. :celebrate:

I'm having confinement now & I really enjoy the food. Fav is the black vinegar pig trotters!

          So what's your fav? πŸ˜‰
This is my fav too! Used to buy from the stall at Sim Lim square but it has since moved away. My only supply now is mum's, but too far away to enjoy regularly. Anyone knows where I can find this?

And how's your little precious, kopiying? Sleeping thru the night yet?

Muffins, it is that time a new mother is \"confined\" to her house in a bid to recover from childbirth. This is usually one month but may be anytime from 3 weeks up to 40 days depending on the prevailing culture.

Apparently too, it is the period the mother is considered \"unclean\" but me? I take it as a time to recover and to bond with the babe.

Think the Chinese phase is zuo yue. Hope that helps.

Oh. Thanks Andaiz. So, the mother can have time alone in the house with the baby, to get her familiar with her face and looks?

yeah, and the smell -oooh, the baby smell makes me laugh...as you can tell, I'm one of those mummy's who kiss their baby till grandma has to clean their cheeks every few hours πŸ˜‰

Yeah. Oh... this reminds me of an incident. Once, when my cuz was in P1, he came home one day to relate this to my auntie:

                        Cuz: Hi mummy! πŸ˜„
Auntie: Hi, sweetie, how was school today?
Cuz: Good! Today we made each other nudies!
Auntie, thinking he said \"nude\": :!: :faint: WHAT!
Cuz: Ya! And my favourite! The Koka one.
                        Auntie: πŸ˜›

                        :rotflmao:
