Cool... my gal also started 2+yrs old... now she's 4+yrs old... Good experience... helps her English language skill (from reciting poems n linking memory).

Having said that SM does not focus on academic subjects... more on left/right brain development... so I find my gal still pretty weak in areas like Chinese/Maths/etc... thus need additional help in those areas.
A good SM teacher also helps alot... I've encountered some SM teacher(s) who are kinda below par.
It takes lotsa efforts from both parents n child to keep up with SM.
I know parents who can't find time to do home practice... so have to pull out in the end.

      cheers 🙂

Its not the method that’s effective. Its the daily interaction that the parents put in that makes all the difference.

If every parent will just spend 30min to an hour reading to their children, playing games and just have that bonding time(not tv time though) through conversations, your child will definitely see the improvement you want.

I agree with some who are asking : What are the PSLE results of the children who attended the various types of mind training?

          Hi there,

My son (13+ months) has been in Shichida for some time now. Wondering if there are any KSP here in the same boat so we can get a discussion going on home practice or sharing of materials or similar topics concerning Shichida?

Hi those mummies or daddies who have enrolled your child in SM,

Which centre do you think is a better choice, given that both are equally far for me? In terms of environment, teachers, management etc…?

Am considering enrolling my children there… Would greatly appreciate your advice.

my child has been with SM for a year, according to Prof Shichida, you will only see the effectiveness of the prog after a yr. Initially, i thought that was a tactic to make parents stay in the program, my child lst 2 terms, keep running ard, only from the 3rd term onwards i saw improvements.

The childcare teacher told me he had fanstastic memory, he was new to the school and within 3 days the teacher say he could remember ALL the classmates name.

my experience with shichida has been positive, i saw my child from running ard the class initially to sitting down quietly throughout the lesson. SM claimed that child who attend their classes are able to obtain better concetration, initially got a bit skeptical, so now i think their claims are proven. He has also gained better memory skills, tell him something, months down the road he can still remember, play him a song less than 3 times and he is able to sing it out.
I think overall SM has bring out his memory potential to a higher level.

can i know how long have your child been with SM to stop running around ? we're in our 1st term and my girl is running arn the class and only seems interested in things which are hands on and the sing song part. she doesnt like to listen to the linking memory or the speed reading. flash cards also sometimes listen sometimes dont. i'm so frustrated in class.

i heard from my colleague whose son also attended SM.

According to him, the teacher told him, P3 students which she taught in the class all make it to GEP successfully.
And for yr info, Jocelyn Khoo, the director of SM adopted the SM approach to teach her 3 children and all make it to GEP.

I wonder how true that is. My kids who attended shichida classes for 21/2 year did not make it to GEP.

                      Home practise is very crucial.

my boy class parents very \"on\" , everyday also practice linking memory, flash card with their child, so dun assume by just sending yr child to SM, they will excel, its the daily effort that parents teach/practise with their child counts.

joshjay: My son is at Springleaf. Can’t comment on the other outlet since we have not been there. We are happy at Springleaf.

try and sunset_dae: fully agree with both of you that parents’ effort is the key to success in Shichida method.
