hey, maybe there is, im not very sure, but high chance you wont be able to get past years' papers of RGS outside of sch. my teachers once told the class that our exam papers are not allowed to be photocopied, meaning no circulation of RGS papers outside of sch. but teachers in sch will let students do practice papers of both RGS and other schs'.

To prepare for the exams, read all notes and do all ws given by the subject teachers. this should be sufficient. of course, reading more than what is provided is encouraged, but info should be of relevance.

        🙂

All the best for coming exams.

There are also non-gepers in classes from 109-111.

The non-gepers are apparently kids with high PSLE score- >270, I think.

Not exactly…there are high scorers in other classes and there are < 270 in these classes too

Seriously, I feel that it is pointless to discuss which class has the better students . They are all high ability girls and we shouldn’t view them differently from the classes they are in.

I have stated what I know to set the records straight.

Let me help by sharing what I know just for interest sake. I agree that we should not view these girls differently as they are all talented in their own areas.

109-113 are 'reserved' for GEP pupils and high scoring mainstreamers.

Of the GEPpers, many entered via DSA - Hence, there are a handful with scores below 270 and some even below 260. They are put in these classes as long as their primary school GEP status as been 'renewed' and extended to 'secondary GEP status'. This is decided by the GEP branch of MOE after the PSLE, taking into account their PSLE scores (ideally above 250) and their attitude and performance during their 3 years in primary GEP. There are a rare few GEP pupils who did not fulfil the criteria for secondary GEP status and are in classes outside 109-113.

As for the mainstreamers, the 'cut-off' score for entry into these 'GEP' classes varies from year to year. For this present batch, I believe it is about 272/3 ??

I believe most classes have been told by their teachers that 113 is the so-called top class, although not all the top PSLE scorers are there. This is probably based on the class average PSLE scores (about mid 270s) and not on individual top scores per se. There are a handful below 270 in that class, but almost half scored 275 and above too, hence bringing up the overall average.

                    :celebrate:

                        Red rose,

It is incorrect to say that 113 is the top class. The class comprises students who take MEP, AEP and students strong in Math Olympiads. Not all of these students scored >270. There are students in 113 who scored <260.

I also do not know of any of the classes being told that by their teachers that 113 is the top class either. The average of the students in 113 may be high, but so are the averages of some of the other classes.

In any case, why does it matter? PSLE is in the past and the girls all do the same syllabus regardless of which class they are in.
