i have 2 kids attending character montessori pasir ris, and am happy to say they are once again enjoyving the playschool. some of you parents may have been aware of the incident one year ago, where a new centre manager who was posted to CMPR introduced many changes and practices to the detriment of students’ welfare and overall staff morale. i’m glad to say that, following discussions between unhappy parents and CM, positive action was taken to remedy the situation. My kids are once again happy at CMPR, which provides a supportive and encouraging environment for learning, in a well-housed location. Their teachers are dedicated team who enjoy working with the kids. Note that CMPR is having Family & Friends Day this Saturday (15 May) from 10am-2pm. Interested parents might want to check out the school, and speak to the lady in charge, Mrs Grace Ng.

Hi mummies, thinking to place my son, coming 3yo to either kinderland or the new one at tampines junction, little sloop house...

                Any comments??
                hello,

i have not visited kinderland but just visited little skool house at tampines junction and am not impressed by their 'software', especially the one that's running the school. the teachers who were with the children at the indoor playground were chit chatting and not really looking at the children. there was even this toddler who was crying and moving away from the teachers' direction simply because she didn't know how to turn her scooter, but no teacher was paying attention to her.

Of course, it's hard not to be overawed by the new facilities, with a fun indoor playground, brand new toys etc. but don't forget who's looking after your child. and i don't think i'd feel comfortable with the caregivers there.

but, i haven't actually placed my child there to be able to give you 'real' feedback. still, i'd like to share my two cents worth.

I kiasu quickly registered my youngest boy (1.5 yo) at PMCK @ pasir ris dr 6; I was afraid that he can’t get a place there.

My 2nd boy (5 yo) is studying at PMCK. The MCYS website rated it quite highly - the principal is dynamic and hands-on, all the teachers are very caring and knowledgeable. I can see even the helpers there love the children.

My 2nd boy was quite problematic but the teachers there are able to handle him perfectly. Their phonics program is great - my 2nd boy had difficulty pronouncing when he just joined them, now he speaks very well.

Before PMCK, my 2nd boy was from a montessori in pasir ris. Sigh…dont noe how to comment…sigh (shake head shake head)

My eldest was from a montessori in simei, sigh…sigh even more (vigoruosly shake head). Subsequently he went to PCF @ Blk 119 (now no more there) which was near my parents’ place, it was so much better.

Now I find Pentecost Methodist Church Kindergaten is really fantastic. It’s a gem. If you don’t mind a church kindergarten, may want to check it out.
