It is not that local uni not gd enough. Everyone gets knowledge from formal schooling. But NIE teaches teachers-to-be methodologies, strategies on teaching, share on new syallabus / directives. They must have SOP.
Now I don't even know whether the schools I've shortlisted has got CA or not... Neighbourhood schools, the website like few years ago type... siao liao...
Which sch are you looking at?
True lar... so decided that might as well go teach the subjects I'm best at and I can explain better with since I understand the concepts, rather than go for rigid system. They even tell me if I teach eng-based subjects, I cannot choose which subjects to teach. Scarly I kanna science, how? My face was already 😐 liao.

I wasn't from Science stream in my sec sch days and yet I teach my girl Science. If you can teach sec level, what is pri level?

I think Fairfield Methodist should be better than New Town or Queenstown. However, I pass by Commonwealth and see that New Town has a new building.

I was from pure science with physics and chemistry, but I just hated it. Made to do science in my sec school bec of my results? But I just hated it. So, when I entered JC (luckily that time still have commerce stream), I chose commerce immediately. I just can't bear getting forced into a job when I do not have passion in it.
My son's form teacher teaches eng, maths, ss, health, pe. MOE short of teachers??
haha... with that kind of rigid selection criteria, how not to be short-handed of teachers...

Fairfield is a good school, but I don't think I stand a chance to go in given my distance from school. So I better not risk, plus lots of other factors like time to wake up, school transport etc...
However, I pass by Commonwealth and see that New Town has a new building.
Ya, new town merged with ghim moh and moved into the new building this year.

              schellen:

              1) Ah, my DD didn't say that the colouring one is to colour in class so she got up early one morning to finish colouring it. The writing part and half the colouring were already done in school.

If colouring is required, my DD likes to use many colours, even for just one horse, and will colour very neatly and slowly. Maybe that's why she had to bring it home to do as homework?
              1) My boy's half coloured piece of same worksheet is still sitting in his folder. I am waiting for teacher to write a note to me if he really misunderstood the instructions. πŸ˜„

That's the difference! If the teacher said 'you CAN colour it', he'll interpret it as an optional activity and just not bother about colouring. All his animals are in one colour only.....I think some K1 students colour better than him! πŸ˜›

              Spelling starts next Friday.....

I think correct word is maximise use of teachers, so much so that teachers complain a lot of time used for unproductive work or admin stuff.

                    jumped
                    screamed
                    paddled
                    said

                    etc...

I think unless the teacher sound out the past tense intentionally (eg '-ed'), my boy will just write the words in present tense...like when I tested him just now (before he see the list). 😐
