      Hi Parents,

My son will be in P1 in 2016, and Rosyth is my alma mater. So i will most probably register in 2A2 in JUly. I say most probably as I am still wondering if I should strike it off due to distance. 🤷

I stay in Pasir Ris. (near elias mall) so if I drive maybe 20mins. Im planning to do a recee trip soon in the morning on a school day at 6.30AM and see how it goes.

I also know a ss in the school now in P6. Who tells me about the long queues in the canteen during recess. anyone can shed some light abt how the school is now? Also heard their dismissal is now 1.45pm...Hmmm, i really feel thats too long.

I'm a primary school teacher actually. (and once in a while i do think about sending my son to my own school....haiz) :slapshead:

I don't recommend u send your child to Rosyth if you can get him into your school. Wouldn't it make sense since you can be on the lookout for him? I stay in Punggol and half regret not applying for HIPS instead. Everyday we're struggling to get to school on time, and I don't wish to have my kid wake up earlier than 6am since he doesn't sleep that early either. I do feel sorry for him sometimes when I see how tired he is by the end of the day.

For now, the roads are very jam in the morning since there are a lot of parents dropping their kids off. From Punggol to Rosyth takes about half an hour on average. Pasir Ris should be longer.

I was picking up my girl from Knowledge Park and this is what I noticed and heard

          1. The class that housed the P1 was chaotic and seems that the 2 \"teachers\" are not experience to handle 30 children.
          2. At 4.30pm was the time I picked my girl. The \"teachers\" demand that children place their head on the table to have their nap!!! at 4.30pm!!!!
          3. One of the teacher said in a not so nice tone \"If I see any head not on the table, I will punish you\"

          4. As I was bringing my girl to the toilet before I go, I noticed that the last classroom was worst and I see students sitting in 2 circles but 1 group nearer to rear entrance was \"practising their taekwondo skills\"

I will be evaluating for the next 2 weeks to see the teachers.
Please share your evaluation. My son didn't shower yesterday and brought back his shower gel (also dunno why). When I text the centre mgr, she cldn't give me an answer. I heard that during early dismissal on Wed, the students were put in the hall and only brought to KP at 2pm. If they don't buck up within the next month or so, wondering if I should pull him out.

Traffic is a killer and every resourceful parent is finding ways and means to drop off every where, including the HDB carparks, to get their kids to school on time.

The traffic jam there is making the residents very upset as some parents (drivers) are very inconsiderate.

Strongly agree! Im staying near Rosyth but ive to leave at 645am (tho it only takes us 10mins to reach) to send my gal to Townsville due to the heavy traffic here! Even driving out from serangoon north is a problem to us! Fr 650am the traffic starts to build up here and worsen at 7am!

Whether you’re living near or far from school, you have to factor in the time that you are stuck in a jam outside the school because many parents will be driving and dropping of their kids. As it’s near the school, there are many kids walking, drivers will slow down the car for safety. I live near the school and my husband drops off my kid every morning. We are stuck in the jam every day for 5-10 mins. We notice that many parents prefer walking, which can be a lot faster.

Must factor in that the roads here r all 1 lane which makes the jam worse. My neighbours’ walk their kids to sch then bk home to drive their cars to work which is faster than dropping their kids off by car.

if you’re living near the sch, makes sense to walk, doesn’t it? or is the jam caused by parents who live nearby but insist on driving their kids to sch???

Since its now single session, how many kids go to school at the same time? 2,400 students?

Yup 2,400. I wonder how the school copes with so many students. The principal even shared she has a big school but has resources of a JC (meaning less teachers!).
