      abbiebabby:
      Hi everyone,

I am a Singaporean mom residing overseas. My girl has been attending an international school since pre-nursery. Looking at the pace of her studies freaks me out. I am considering of relocating back to Singapore since she started P1. I missed the P1 registration and I know Aitong is a hot school. Is there any way for me to register my daughter this year?

I intend to send her back to Singapore after she completes her Grade 1 this summer, sometime end June. Can someone please advise me the best way of doing so?
Unfortunately, you have missed the cut-off and would have to apply to the school of your choice directly. In Ai Tong case, you would probably have to join the long waiting list of students wanting to transfer in. Unless you are an old boy/girl, I would think that your chances are pretty low.

Suggestion would be to look for another school nearby, probably in AMK, assuming, that is, if you live nearby.

Even if abbiebaby is ex old boy / old girl under Phase 2A2 -

the fact remains that she had missed P1 registration exercise conducted last year (2014).
Once you miss, nothing can be done. Too late, because the P1 Registration exercise already over.

can only contact school Principal, ask whether got any vacancy to join Primary 2, since her 2007 born dd already P2 now.
She has to join rest of the other applicants on the waiting list, to seek Transfer into Ai Tong.
Just call up the school whether got any dateline, to submit P2 Term 1 to Term 4 results ?
If old boy / girl, emphasize this to Principal

Alternately, as what floppy suggested, she can try to seek Transfer into other less popular primary schools. (if she dont mind, urgent for her dd to return Sg, to study) bec Ai Tong very popular !
For this, she got to call up individual school (the ones she interested in), to inquire whether got any vacancy, or not.
If got vacancy in other schools, just enter first.
Then end of P3 next year after the students taken Gep tests, some P3 Ai tong students will exit the school, transfer out to one of those 9 Gep schools.
By then, more dynamic fluid movement created, as more vacancies start to arise within the school, leading to a higher chance to Transfer in.

        One more thing -
Is abbiebaby dd holding Sg citizenship status, or PR ?
For Transfer : schools do consider citizenship, prefer to give priority to Sg citizen children.

            Hi all,

When Ai Tong moves back to its original campus, would they increase their primary 1 intake?

            Thanks

Dear Parents, I am new here in this forum, this thread.

My child was born in 2012. He is 2 and a half years old now. Is it too late for me to apply for SHHK membership now? I read somewhere earlier in this thread that, average/normally members of 4 years (and above) then will have the chance to obtain the recommendation to get into
              Ai Tong.

Also, any kind heart parents here can be my referral to apply for SHHK membership?

              Thousands thanks.

Not likely in my opinion,as they are shifting toward single session. Be happy if they don't reduce their P1 intake.

If one day Ai Tong enter balloting in Phase 2A(1) : then all old girls remaining behind inside 2A(2) will be bypassed

You should ask yourself, \"by paying $500 alumni fees (fees increased from last time by a lot), does it give me any peace of mind ?\"
If Yes, pay, to get peace of mind.
If No difference, stay put in 2A2.
But if balloting really happen in 2A(1) : don't regret, don't cry, if end up bypassed.

If balloting arise one day in 2A(1) : you ballot if fall outside 2 km, fight for that chance, your child may still get in.
But if balloting arise in 2A(1) & still remain in 2A(2) : u totally zero chance, to enter Ai Tong.

Years ago, the alumni fees was cheaper.
During my friend's dd time to enrol her girl into Ai Tong, she told me alumni fees back then (a few years ago), was only around $200.
The fact that today u mention Ai Tong Phase 2A(1) alumni fees had risen to $500 : indicate that many people had already joined alumni. When demand increase (because many people join alumni), naturally the fees also shot up.

Perhaps part of the reason due to the rise, was because last year (2014) :
a few primary schools encountered balloting in 2A(2) outside 2 km , something quite unheard of before, in the past.

last year, a few primary schools got involved in Phase 2A(2) balloting, because demand exceed vacancies, in 2A(2). These include

                      - CHIJ St Nicholas girls' primary (Ang Mo Kio) : had 24 children vying for 14 spots,

-\tHenry Park primary (Bukit Timah) : had 59 children vying for 46 vacancies,

-\t Radin Mas Primary (Bukit Merah) : had 67 children applied for 60 places,

-\t Nan Hua primary (Clementi) : had 55 children competing for 42 spots.

                      see more at
                      http://ifonlysingaporeans.blogspot.sg/2 ... e-for.html

As such, after witnessing balloting in 2A(2) in other schools, parents began to worry what happen, if one day, similar balloting in 2A(2) also arise in their own school, for those staying outside 2 km?
Hence, more parents began to join 2A(1). Pay a bit slightly more, never mind. But at least is safer, move up to a higher rank.

At $500 : today's Ai Tong alumni fees have become the same as ACS Junior, ACS Barker & RGPS primary schools' alumni fees, while Nanyang is around $1000.

Pay to get peace of mind. Also, the alumni status must be at least a year before P1 registration.

Not sure if you still have time to join the alumni?
