[Ang Mo Kio/Bishan/Thomson/Toa Payoh] Preschools

Any one knows of any good preschool (for nursery and kindergarten) around AMK or Thomson area? My child, who is turning 3 in a few mths time is now attending enrichment class at Zoophonics, once a week only. If no other alternative preschool, I may let her continue her kindergarten at Zoophonics. But would prefer a church-based kindergarten…

If you are looking for 3 hrs kind, you may want to consider Brightstart Montessori. It's on 2nd fl of Bishan CC. It's a very small school; nonetheless, it's one of the better ones I've seen.

Their programs start from 18mos to 4yrs. So the down side of this school is that you have to start looking for a new school for the kids for K1 and K2.

They have very low teacher-student ratio. I think max 2:16 with the extra help of an aunty for the 3-4 yrs, and 1-2 aunties for the younger ones. The timings are 9am-10.30am for 18mos-2yrs; 10.30am-12nn for 2-3yrs; 12.30pm-3.30pm for 3-4yrs. They have only 1 classroom, so only 1 class for each group.

Some parents send their kids there from tpy, yio chu kang, even sengkang. Very solid phonics foundation if finish the entire program, at least for the 2 years in 3-4 yrs group (N1-N2).

Fees are reasonable too.

DS1 was there for 1 1/2 yrs. DS2 started this year.

Thanks st! DS1 is currently in another kindergarten, but because it's quite far, and I dun drive, the only way is by public transport or school bus. school bus not cheap, and the attitude of the bus operator,...hmm, better dun comment anything...

Bishan CC is right across street from Bishan bus interchange and close to Bishan MRT circle line exit.

No, they closed the centre at Blk 145. Now only left the one on the 2nd fl of Bishan CC.

My dd is there currently. Small sch but still ok. So far, the school will update parents on what the kids learn every month. And the kids take home a folder every friday. In it got quite a few worksheets, artwork, rhyme sheet, etc that they did/went thru in sch. Older kids will have homework. School bus is available, though it only serves at most Bishan area, I think.

my 2 yr-old girl is attending learning kidz at amk hub, 2 hrs per day, 2x a week. she's been there for only 2 weeks. but i'm finding it difficult to bring her to school and wait for 2 hrs until her class is done.

since we live in toa payoh lorong 6, i am looking for a preschool 2-3 hrs a day, or half day child care so i can do some housework while she's in school. i prefer a school near our place. i have checked my first skool but im on waitlist. jessin, wesley and q-dees only accept 3yo and above.

anyone have sent their kid to zong xiang or deerland, young talents preschool?

My kids are also attending same school but it is the one at AMK Techpoint. The environment is good but the teacher quality is doubtful. I shouldn't write more here as I had posted my concern in another thread.
