I went to Arima onsen for one night stay at Ryokan. The experience was fantastic!!you all can search for Taketoritei Maruyama. There are private rooms for onsen and the breakfast is superb!!! :rahrah:

Thank you! Found something from this link but have to pay through the nose :moneyflies:
That's the prob. Cheap ones get booked up way ahead as Kyoto is a very popular destination. What u can do is check again regularly everyday to see if any cheaper or better ones become available. Then u can switch your reservation. I have done that myself. Another method is to check for availability for single days. It means changing ryokan daily though. I take it as experiencing diff ryokans
Thanks, Dnls_mum. Unfortunately both of them are sold out for the period I am looking at. :gloomy:
Do you happen to know of others?

Thanks, Dnls_mum. Have been checking almost daily, though not much luck so far. Hopefully will get lucky nearer to the date.
I did think about moving to another ryokan in between, but that would be logistically challenging, and waste precious time too as I donโt have too many days in Kyoto. -
Dear all,
Is June a good time to visit Tokyo? Plan to bring kids to Disneyland in June. But seems its a rainy season in Japan.
Thanks -

Hi
Do we need thick winter wear if we go to Tokyo in late Nov? -
yhsg:
I was there early Nov last year. It was not cold at all. I did not need to wear any thermal or winter wear. But i heard from friends there that it was colder the week before. So weather can be unpredictable. Best advice is to check the weather forecast nearer your travel date. Most importantly, bring layers.Hi

Hi
Anyone went to Hoshinoya resort in Kyoto before? Any feedback? Thks -
Read last week at ST that tsukiji fish market is not moving to the new site early November. Anyone has any update? I hope to still be able to visit the old site at end of the year.
