        Hi Angel9388,

A child can start learning swimming when he is a few months old. However, it is quite a specialised field and most of the coaches do not coach children this young. If you want, I have a contact of a coach who do coach babies.

If you bring your son to swim on your own, try to keep the sessions short. It should be around 15min to half an hour depending on the weather conditions. Eitherwise he might fall sick easily. The water should also be warm but if you go to the public pool, it is a factor that you can't control thus keep the sessions short

            Hi Monster Mummy,

The minimum age can be from 3 months old onward, depending on how well the baby is able to hold up its head. It also depend on how comfortable the instructor is. Different instructor might have different minimum age.

It is usually through the actions and behaviour of the instructor and parents. The baby might not understand exactly what the words mean initially. However, through repeat actions, the baby will come to expect and learn what the words mean. Babies can also understand tone of the voices. Babies can also feel through their senses. Thus, non-verbal communication will be an important element.

                  Hi,

I have 2 sons, 4 and 6 yrs old and would like to enrol them in holiday swimming classes this June Hols at Serangoon swimming Complex. Have not found a coach yet, but this is an estimation of the fees: http://www.maxswim.com/swimming-lessons-course-fee

Would like to ask if any parents would want to join me so that we can lower the course fees.

Looking at these timings: 3x a week, (Mon, Wed, Fri) 9.30am - 10.30 am.
                  (timings can be changed)
