Any parents whose child DSA-ed into TJC IP via Maths, can share their experiences? Both DSA test/interview experience or the studying (and coping?)
What is the take in rate for DSA Maths? And averagely what is the child’s P6 results range? -
This is the 1st year that tjc offers dsa via subjects. Previous year it was a dsa via general ability and well roundedness.

My DS2 is P4 this year but we are starting to think about DSA to TJC. Looking at the criteria for DSA via academic is rather tough though he has always been among the top 10% in cohort.
Can we try DSA via sports that is not listed in TJC DSA admission criteria for sports? Does the school entertain such application? -
Does your child need tuition during 1st 2 yrs of IP in TJC? Wat kind of tuition?
Btw, any parents can comment the stress level at TJC? -
DD managed to get a CO for TJ IP via DSA (Acad).

My dd also has a CO from tjc. Actually, tjc ticks all the boxes for us. They are :
1) tjc only has ip leading up to jc. I am not sure everyone knows. For schools with both ip and o levels, there is a chance that yr dd or ds may drop out (or asked to leave ip) of ip if they do not do as well and the place will be taken by someone from o levels. For schools offering only ip, there is no such possibility
2) tjc is a well known name and its education has a broader exposure, unlike some schools which only focus on mugging for results
3) the school cohort is small and there are a lot more chances for participation and leadership by everyone. Smaller class size means teachers are more responsive and the atmosphere is more cosy
4) everyone coming in has no affiliation, so there is no cliques formed
5) lastly, school is only 5 to 10 minutes from our house by car
6) it is one of the top ip schools in the east -
