Is there a way to know how many GRLs are applying to the schools in a certain year within a GRC? Mine’s up in 2019

I’ve recently just submitted my application to volunteer at my RC. Pardon my ignorance, I just found out that the school that is within 1 KM of my house is not under the RC. The lady that called me told me a list of schools under my RC (under my address) and was shocked that some further away is under my RC. She told me this changes every election so my girl is due to register on 2020 (for P1 2021) and there might be changes in electoral zone by then.

I still went ahead to register but just and they have to screen me for 3 months, then they will invite me to become an observer and when they think i am suitable , only they will call me for volunteer. so by the time i can do volunteer work will be 1 year later and the timing is just nice for the balloting time in 2020.
My conclusion is, if parents want to go under this, please register now and please take note that the schools under the list might change.

Only to invite more intense competition, against my child, when so many parents here are so secretive, over the popular schools they going to enrol in \"?

Yes, you can appeal.
However, your chances of success would be zero.
