      I like rimowa!!!!!

I heard good things about Rimowa too. I was chatting with an air steward during one of my trips and he has so much good thing to say. But so expensive lah!

Yes Rimowa is really expensive. I am a heavy user and i would say, if there is a promo, i will definitely grab. My old Rimowa lasted me 12 years with heavy usage ....... i used other brands like Lojel (don't like cause bag itself is very very heavy), Samsonite (not bad, expensive too) , American tourister ( not lasting , spoil after a few trips) , Delsey ( ok but getting more expensive.
I would say Romowa and Samsonite will be my top pick.

I also notice that if you sign on a yearly travel insurance these days with certain insurance companies comes with a Samsonite medium size luggage that i find it useful. So if your family at least travel 3 to 4 times (including malaysia), it is better to buy the yearly travel plan cause its cheaper, they give free luggage and free vouchers for some.

    • RE: Travel: Australia - Perth

      Hi everyone,

I just got back from perth 3 weeks back.
Perth is a quiet laid back area that is very kid friendly i would say.
We only stay in Swan Valley this time as we were afraid of the journey to margaret river will make my 3 year old go crazy.
Just to share, the Cuddll farm is a great place for kids. My girl got to get really close to sheeps, rabbits, goats and etc. You can spend half a day there. Try to go in the morning as the Goat feeding time and the goat milking time are in the morning. Bring you own food as their cafe is not ready yet.
Next we went to the Caversham wildlife park. There are many wild animals there but the main attraction will be the sheep show and also the kangaroo feeding. Kangaroos run free in their area and we are allowed to use their kangaroo feeding snacks to feed them. You can touch the kangaroos and get really close to them. They are also not aggressive type.
I would suggest the Penguin Island tour( i did not do it because it opens after 15 September due to hibernation). I heard that you get to see and get close to penguins there.
I do not recommend the zoo as my friends visited it and all of them told us not to waste our time and money. I also do not recommend the aquarium as it is very small and the one in Singapore is bigger and nicer. The only plus point on that Aquarium is that the sharks and sting rays are bigger.
Kings Park has very nice view and my girl was running around looking at the beautiful flowers there. Best part, it is free, you don’t even pay for parking fees.
Food wise, we eat where ever we stop. If u are in the CBD area, Asian food is easy to find ( we only had 1 asian meal) .
There’s a big playground in Freemantle. You kid will love it. I did not pick any particular Fish and Chips joint and just walked into anyone cause we were hungry. The portion of fish and chips there are quite big so don’t over order.
Self driving in Perth is very easy. We rented the GPS from the car rental company as we were afraid that some places might have limited data and we are happy that we rented it. We stayed in the Discovery parks in Swan valley that the data egg and even mobile data was super limited. We depended on the GPS to get us back to our Cabin every day.
My wifi egg that i rented from changi wasnt working well when we were there. even when we were in the CBD area , reception was poor that my hubby ended up buying a local data sim card to go online.
If you are into honey around swan valley, i would recommend Windarra Honey instead of Honey House . We tried both and Windarra honey do not have nice packaging but their honey was cheap and pure. We bought tones of it back as well.
If anyone need an itinerary for swan valley holiday can PM me and i can send you my soft copy of my itinerary.
Hope this helps with families going there.

      Hey there,

Any recommendations for preschools in buangkok area. We r residing overseas and will be moving to Singapore next month with kids 4 and 2. I noticed mindchamps and MMI at buangkok area. There's one called ebridge. Any reviews on that? Thanks

Mindchamps at Buangkok is good..Director is on top of things

I just visited Mindchamps Buangkok last week, i am really blown and impressed with their level of cleanliness. I was visiting a few Childcare centres and noticed all of it have some mild smell. I cannot describe the smell as i am very sensitive to any smell. I don't find that in Mindchamps Buangkok, maybe because they have air purifiers in every room! After visiting a few different CC's i am sold. I am transferring my girl there starting December. If anyone wants to go Mindchamps, start before 2018, show them your Amex card, you can get 10% off the school fees for 8 months!. So we initially wanted to wait till Jan 2018 to let my girl finish this year but we will let her start earlier instead to enjoy the discount!.
Just sharing so if any parents are thinking of transferring, do it before Jan 2018. We asked Mindchamps HQ and they say it applies to all branches cause another one of my friend is going to send her kid to another branch so we told them and they contacted the branch and they got the discount too.
      Hope this helps

    • RE: All About Active Community Leaders

I’ve recently just submitted my application to volunteer at my RC. Pardon my ignorance, I just found out that the school that is within 1 KM of my house is not under the RC. The lady that called me told me a list of schools under my RC (under my address) and was shocked that some further away is under my RC. She told me this changes every election so my girl is due to register on 2020 (for P1 2021) and there might be changes in electoral zone by then.

I still went ahead to register but just and they have to screen me for 3 months, then they will invite me to become an observer and when they think i am suitable , only they will call me for volunteer. so by the time i can do volunteer work will be 1 year later and the timing is just nice for the balloting time in 2020.
My conclusion is, if parents want to go under this, please register now and please take note that the schools under the list might change.
